I remember seeing multiple people say that you can only Jailbreak a PS3 when it's on 3.55 or lower. Now, this is where I am officially confused. I was just on 4.20 OFW, and apparently jailbroke ps3. PSN Store and Home both don't work, no big deal for me. But I want to get to experience emulators, homebrews, everything that CFW/Jailbreaking has to offer. The reason I'm confused is because I've seen multiple times that you can only jailbreak on 3.55 OFW, well, what I did wasn't jailbreaking? I'm lost LOL

What did you do?

If you were on OFW 4.20, you did not jailbreak your PS3. Unless you used a hardware flasher to downgrade.

Just downloaded a file on a flashdrive, put it in the ps3, downloaded the software off flashdrive, done

So when I get it out of Demo mode, it's still not jailbroken. Bummer

There is some threads about it here. You need a reverter pup, then install OFW 4.20.

Whatever you do, don't update to 4.23, you will be stuck. Since there is no OFW 4.23 and only demo 4.23.
