Smile PS3 Downgrade failed - Console bricked

Hey guys, I've bricked my ps3 during the downgrade using E3 Flasher.
I've seen a few tutorials on how to recover it, but they all say I must have my own bios backup. I don't have it Is there anyway I can un-brick my PS3 if I don't have my original bios backup ?
Cheers

I don't know why you've got a smiley face in the thread title -- but I love the optimism!

Do you have any backups? Did you not validate them? Is that how you bricked?

Solder a wire from nor tristate to sbe on e3 ribbon.
Power on PS3 with switches 1 and 3 up, the rest down.
Press start and make a backup.
If it fails you will need to reseat the clip.

that is correct. The very first step in the downgrade process says to make sure you dump bios and check them before downgrading. I am sorry to say that if you didnt follow instructions by dumping bios, then the best dev, hacker, ps3 guru on earth cant help you. Without the bios, the ps3 is not a ps3. Now its time to post it on ebay for parts. You could have saved it with the bios on that console no matter what firmware it was when it bricked, but you need a set of bios. What model was it?

It is still possible to get a backup from it. As long as the per console data is still intact, you can patch the backup and downgrade.

i stand corrected. I guess that was my bad for assuming. I was under the assumption that he flashed the console, meaning he would have lost the original bios. How far through the process would it have had to go before you loose the per console bios?

It all depends. There are too many variables to list. For example, if the clip was not secure and made a backup, that was missing metldr. When you flash back, it might not flash over metldr, because of the bad connection.

We can only know what is there, by the op following what I said above to make a backup.

As long as the op hasn't flashed a backup from a different console, overwriting per console data, then there is hope.

You are the man. Thanks for the info again. I have been learning quit a bit from you on these things. I downgrade one console using your guide and I have purposely bricked 2 consoles and unbricked them, and accidently bricked another and unbricked it. good stuff

I was actually following this tutorial here :
Downgrade Any PS3 From 4.11 To 3.55 Then Mod. Free Custom Rebug 3.55.2 Firmware! - YouTube
The step in 13:00 is the one that bricked my console. I do have a BIOS backup, but I've checked it afterwards and it's corrupted. If someone could have a look that would be appreciated.
Thanks for the help guys
