I use Google and searched it. First I had to translate it and they had comments confirming it working.
Since I'm not able to test it myself. I am still skeptical. I recently watched videos concerning this and cfw. I'm declaring it FAKE until otherwise.

I tested the PS2 Evo in 3.55 Kmeaw, PS3 Slim non-backward, and doesn't work
 Tried with Gran Turismo 3 and Sly Cooper original discs, but i only got this message:  Regards |

I don't advise this because there is a possibility of this cfw bricking your console. Best thing for us to do is wait until some checks the CFW.

I dont need to test this to know its fake.
PS3 slim will never play PS2 games perfectly, and a PS2 emu cannot simply be ported to PS3 as a PKG.

Guys,
It is the same thing that as known before! I thought i could test it, but i don't have any original PS2 disk right now. First: aparentely it works on all firmwares. But you need to ps2 emulation files on dev_flash. In the video it wasn't required to copy those files since the CFW used (CFW 3.55 digitalevo) already has those files. And for avoid misleading: this new custom firmware as the author said himself: "doesn't bring anynews, only offer what already existed". Here it is a quote from the author explaining how to use it:

Getting Playstation 2 Software Emulator working
Method (on Firmware 3.55, without! Cobra-USB Dongle or Downgrade) for all consoles (fat & slim). 1. Replace following files on your consoles /dev_flash/ with the ones included in this archive p3dwik-ps2compatfiles.rar 2. Get into Factory Service Mode (FSM Tool/Dongle) 3. Insert your Original PS2 Game Disc 4. It will run. But you don't need to use factory service mode! Greetings |
