As for the ECDSA and fake signing, no. you don't need that. We can sign a 'retail self' (not fake sign) that is pre 3.55 and it will look authentic as long as it's not NPDRM.. which is fine since bluray eboots are not npdrm. Also, you don't run the game until you swap it. the eboot would be in memory anyways so you can't do that. Anyways, you put your disc in, it shows up on the XMB (disable auto-start if needed) then swap it, then run it and your new eboot will be launched. As for needing a CFW, I don't think so. If you have a bluray reader on your PC, you could just read that sector 0x800 which itself wouldn't be encrypted, right ? I don't have a bluray burner either, otherwise I might have given it a shot. Keep it up, maybe you'll find something. p.s: but to be honest, if you are to open up your ps3, you just might as well install a flasher on it... |

That whole sector is just jumbled mess and I believe it can only be decrypted by the ps3 using the info from the PIC, which can't be read on any BD on the market.

I have access to a cfw ps3 so I will try that first but if not I will look into hacked BD firmwares.
