I think giving it some new cooling pasta will do the job, there are toturials out there.

Off-topic: How much is a brand new 60gb 1.generation hackable ps3 with firmware 3.40 worth? I've heard that it's worth alot, even if it's not hackable.
but they actualy fix it, or one month later I'll have ylod again?

OFF: don't know, but I see people selling it for 200-300€ ($251-$377), in this version, you have retro-compatibility, card reader, 4usb slots....and ylod

Dont use a hairdryer!

You can temporary fix it using a heatgun though.

My advice is to take it for a reball.

I've heard that to the right seller, you can get about $2000, maybe even more if the guy I sell it to wants to hack it.
The main reason to ylod is dust, you should clean your ps3 and clean all the pins and **** inside the ps3 It might do the job.
Sorry, I wrote the cooling pasta in wrong post, it was ment to be in "ps3 is hotting up".
Hope you'll get it to work, you should atleast follow my advice, if it doesn't work then you'll sadfully have to send it to sony.

A reball is when the solder on the GPU is replaced with leaded solder balls then resolderd back on the motherboard.

DO NOT USE COPPER SCHIMS!!!! They can short out your CPU & GPU and will also fry the chip.

I have a 60Gb model, I try out the fan test and nothing happens, seems to be there's only fan test for 40gb, 80gb and later on models...

Anyways, I think I'll do the same as you to fix the ylod, but just one question, where I can get the "kester 951 flux", or something a like?

thanks for tell how you fixed your ylod (hope it work on mine ps3)

OFFtopics...

And they don't give a s* about have a CFW inside it?

I don't know if in my country there's some place where it could be reballed (this word exists??....lol)
When you say "Reballing is almost permanent" you're talking about rebbaling with some laser machine...?

don't worry about that, what is a topic without offtopics
I got my Lester 951 from eBay for $5 but I don't know how much it'll cost you wherever you're from. If you have time and patience and want to avoid warping the board with the heat gun, check out djwhetzel's reflow jig on YouTube.
