What is awesome about our entire existence and everything we once thought was real being tossed in the trash because it turns out that we're nothing more than scientific lab rats? In that case, there is a God, and our Gods are cruel, sadistic individuals. On the contrary, what does that say about us and the things we do to actual lab rats? And zoo animals?

i agree my thoughts have always been in an infinite universe there is infinite possibility and infinite answers to infinite questions, at this point in time a definitive answer to such questions is beyond comprehension until we can understand actually infinity, our perspective on such matters will be from a relative point of view.

Cool. Extending beyond just the human race, where did it ALL begin? Assuming we are just an alien experiment, what created this alien world? What is the source of everything?

If that is what you are trying to get at, who honestly cares?

Not in a bad way, but if we were ultimately created by something, obviously they don't care what we do so screw it.

The real God of literary notroriety is at times quite cruel and sadistic having turned an entire city and all of its inhabitants to pillars of salt and then there was that small flood that supposedly flooded the entire surface of the world.

Why always does the lack of a reasonable and proven explenation inevitably lead to the same tired question?

This is exactly why religion exists in the first place and why even in the absence of persuasion unevolved cultures also believed in a devine entity. No one wants to believe that in the end all that they have accumulated means nothing, that their lifes deeds no different than that of the man who violated law and cultural standards. In every instance where there is no defined answer mans brain manufactures one...............it makes the boogies go away.
