If its a matter of believing or not in a god...thats pretty much up to the individual people...
but if you are talking about proof...well there is no proof that he/she exists or not...

Its the same principle with quantic physics..."the cat is dead and alive" untill you open the box (in this case the "opening the box" its the proof) you cant say that the cat is dead or alive...so its booth

But i will say this...

Man its a very curious creature, and we dont like not knowing things...and until we find out about those things...we create/invent "temporarily truths" to pease our minds.
Every society created by man, have created some sort of "supernatural being" to explain the beginning of man and how the universe work and how it came to be.
So how do we know if any religion/beliefs its the right one or if there is some sort of "god"?

But let me put it this way...your religion/beliefs tells you that if you jump of a building you will fly, i will say to you..."no, you will die". And you say to me "but i have faith...", and i say "wanna find out?" lol
