It seems like its becoming a trend for Kojima to set the standard for games on consoles at console launch and towards the end of its prime.

When ps2 came out MGS2 blew everyone away with its awesomeness and then towards the end of the ps2's prime they pushed it even further with MGS3's gameplay and graphics. PS3, MGS4 on launch, blows us away. And now they probly going to push the console further than its ever been pushed before with MGS - Graound Zero

I was hoping for PS3 exclusive, something like MGS4, but there are more money in multiplatform games. If this came as PS3 exclusive it would be number 1 reason to buy PS3, and that would most likely recover PS3 sales.

It's almost PC gameplay with the render-ish style of PS3, don't know the specs used to run the demo.

But as far as we know we have many upcoming engines that will be *better* for pc gamers than the *old* UT engine.
You have:

1) Crytek
2) Fox Engine
3) UT the 4th gen one.
4) Frostbite 2.0

If they are well optimized i don't think you will need a super high-end computer to play this. Btw i don't know if Kojima in this case went some steps ahead for some particular *reason* or just to get a smile on PC users even with not official confirmation of something being released on PC with FOX engine.
But we all know how Crysis engine (the first one) was a pain to run in any rig.

(An example of good optimized engine: Dead space series)

As for the PS3 exclusive content, that's really a big letdown.
The day i see MGS4 ported to Microsoft i will be mad as many others MGS fans.

From what I have heard this was running on a PC with similar specs to the PS3 and that they expect the final product to be close to the visuals shown here. These were gameplay graphics and not cutscenes.

Also, lets all keep in mind the Kojima is a big Sony fan.

Kojima being Kojima

Kojima talked about Fox Engine at PAX:

“The thing is, once we get the Fox engine moving as we do now. You can make an FPS, you can make an Uncharted, etc. But what I wanted to do is make an open-world game, and that’s what I’m doing now.

I don't get the "exclusive content" thing. Why the f*** would you want this? Does it make you feel good to play something that others cannot play? What would you have to gain by holding other people out?

Exclusives are the reason people choose one console over another.

Also exclusives are coded specifically for the console. Multiplatform titles are rarely optimized well. Look at skyrim for example. Look how well uncharted runs. Make it multiplatform and you sacrafice quality.
