Guide me in the right direction please. - PS3Hax Network

I have a 60GB Phat PS3 console with Firmware 3.41.

I also use a usb blackcat thingy to do my home brew and stuff like that,
but I want to upgrade to firmware 3.55 kmew, since I read is the best one for
that kind of stuff. Also playing new games would be nice.

I also heard that after the upgrade you no longer need the usb adapter.

My question is: with all the newer games being playable now,
which would be the best firmware to install?

I have no idea what Dex or Hex are, nor what they do.

So please shed some light to a fellow gamer.

IMO update to rogero v3.4 it's basically kmeaw updated with more ffeatures. He even uses kmeaw as the base firmware for constructing his firmware and he has a lot of updates to go along with it.

but, what does dex do?

dex will turn your ps3 into a debug (test) unit, you could play the latest games this way, but it can be a bit tricky to move to dex, and it's a pain to go back to a normal ps3...i think.

if you are updating your ps3 to kmeaw, don't have a game inside for safety reasons.

Yeah make sure you don't have a disc in the drive when your updating
