I want to buy a new ps3 which is on 3.55 or lower, would this be under 3.55?

Yes if it is brand new. COD black ops is a 3.50 game so the console will be on 3.50.

Either way, if he wasn't 100% sure, he would have said so. And this is correct, Black Ops comes with 3.42 actually.

It depends on the bundle actually.
First it has to be a bundle made by manufacturer, not a retailer, with no Platinum/Greatest Hits/PS3 the Best editions, and must contain only one game.

Well I assumed the first part was a given. If some store tapes a game to the box and calls it a bundle, then obviously the console won't have corisponding firmware. I didn't know about the greatest hits/platinum games tho. Thanks for the info. I didn't even know the made bundles with greatest hits. I did wonder about the bundles with 2 games, tho I thought they usually required the same firmware. Anyway, thanks for the enlightment.

Black ops comes with 3.50. I have Qa flag downgraded with my black ops disc.
