ps3 can't read dvd game

So all of the sudden it seems my ps3 can't read game burned to dvd. I have only one game on dvd. When I load the disc via multiman there just black screen instead of game loading. Then I wanted to try copy the data from the dvd to ps3 hdd. But it can't access it. When I open ps3_game dir on disk the file manager window just closes. But I'm able to copy all the data from disk to pc without any errors.

Have you installed the disc loading pkg for mmCM? stDISC.pkg?

Showtime Disc Access (stDISC.pkg 100kb)
=======================================

Requirements:

* CFW/MFW 3.41/3.55 with peek/poke/lv1 access (KMEAW/REBUG/ROGERO/HERMES)
* Showtime media player 3.99+ or Showtime for multiMAN (installed in default location)
* Data DVD/CD/BD in the PS3 tray (video/music/photo content)

Purpose:

* Allows access to optical data discs (DVD-R/RW, CD-R/RW, BD-R/RE) which usually are not accessible in homebrew apps
* Minimizes the steps to access content stored on such optical discs (no need to launch multiMAN with DirectDiscAccess)
* Allows Showtime to play all your backup videos/music if you used optical media

Extras:

* You can take screenshots of movies while Showtime is playing
* You can play music from XMB [Music] column while Showtime is displaying photo slideshow
* You can use "Remote Play" to watch videos on your PSP / PS Vita or other compatible devices

Installation:

* Copy "stDISC.pkg" to the root of a USB drive/stick
* Install from [Game] column -> [* Install Package Files]
* "Showtime (Disc access)" entry will appear in the [Video] column in XMB
* Launch it with data disc in the tray
* In 5-10 seconds your Showtime Media Player will load with disc access

Enjoy!

Or have you been playing this DVD back up before?

I have played it once just to check out if it works. And I didn't update multiman or anything like that. I thought dvd was corrupted but pc can read it. It just trys to load then I have black screen instead of game starting.

Did you update the game the second time you put it in? That would mess it up... check the game data related to the game in question in the game coloumn of the XMB (not in multiman)

Also:
* Allows access to optical data discs (DVD-R/RW, CD-R/RW, BD-R/RE) which usually are not accessible in homebrew apps
Did you install the stDISC.pkg? if not this may help you get the files on to the internal drive?

Now I know why. I tested it connected to old tv with analog display output. It turns out when I run it connected to hdmi there's this black screen. (via multiman). It runs in hd via disc launcher, but I never was able to play it via disk launcher because there's problem with corrupted data.

No I don't have it sorted, because I don't know why there's black screen after launching it in hd, and why it works when ps3 is connected via analog output and how do I make it run in hd...

Via analogue it will never run HD.

To make it work on HD TV you need to put HDMI cable back in, connect to HD TV, turn it on by holding power for 5 seconds, and the cable settings will reset.

Now it will work in HD on your HD TV.

Cable reset. Simples.

I think you misunderstood me. I mean that if I have ps3 conected via analog the game runs. If I have ps3 connected via hdmi when I launch the game there's black screen.SO basically it runs in analog output, but don't in hdmi

You misunderstand me. Reset the cables and it will out put through HDMI.

EXAMPLE:
I ran across this problem when moving my Playstation 3 from my parents house to my house. I don't have an HD-TV(yet!!). So when I brough it over from my parents house (who have HDMI), to my TV (composite connection), the TV would just be blank.

This was because I had set the PS3 to output HDMI at my parents house, but forgotten to switch it to composite before bring it over to my house. So driving blind, I would never be able to find the menu to reset it.

By Sony had already though of this problem and there is an easy solution:

Make sure the system is off.
Hold down the Power Button for 5-6 seconds - until you hear the second beep.
That's it, your video settings are reset and you should be able to choose your input and configure it from there.

Simple!!
