it should be ready to go. Now you need to try and get a good bios dump.

PS: I found all the lights are still on even if I turned off PS3 (but with power on). Is that normal? Or that's because I did anything wrong? Thanks! |

Yes, I now successfully backed up my bios. But when I tried to downgrade, the blue light is showing 10001111(1 means blinking, 0 means off). Is this because the clip is not well seated?

Yes, it has to do with the clip not being seated properly. Check the clip at the flasher first. If that don't work the you already know what's next......time to take it apart....AGAIN! The ps3 heats up while it is on and doing a bios backup, which makes the tape not hold so well. Did you check your bios for validity?

What....? Explain the events tht led to this. I have gotten a ylod before trying to get the clip on right. That means you used too much pressure or where too rough with the nor chip and have damaged the southbridge of the nor, which will give you ylod. You can use the e3 flasher on another console, but damn....that really sucks.

And I think another reason is that I did't install the whole thing back every time. I was too lazy and I just assembled blue ray driver and power without all the screws back on. That may course the heat problem and killed my PS3. I think I should find a low price PS3 on craiglist and repeat it. I was almost there... |

I'm not sure. I would be willing to bet it was the amount of pressure that damaged the solder on the nor. If you are going to buy another ps3, make sure it is downgradable.
