Question Honesty is the Best Policy

There should be a lot of mixed feelings about this, and I may even lose friends over this, but after speaking with a counselor at school and then reflecting on my life a bit, I've realized that I just don't care about the Scene. It's most likely due to the fact that I don't have a PlayStation anymore tied with the fact that I have greater responsibilities in my life right now... I don't know. I'm just done. It's one of those things that you move on from for me. Am I wrong? Perhaps. My only response to that could be "whatever". This is not about any other user, a lot of you are good people, it's just about me not caring about the Scene. Really.

Simply put: My interest in the PlayStation Scene and anything PlayStation 3 related is all but dead -- there's no other way around it. I haven't owned a PlayStation 3 for almost an entire year now and yet I've kept up with PlayStation Scene progression as if I truly care about what's going on. First of all, it's hard for me to appreciate PlayStation Scene releases when I'm unable take advantage of any of them. Second of all, well, this:
  • I don't care about EBOOTs.
  • I don't care about DRM dongles.
  • I don't care about CFW.
  • I don't care about Sony removing OtherOS.
  • I don't care about anyone ever accessing PSN.
  • I don't care about who is screwing over who.
  • I don't care about fake developers.
  • I don't care about ANYTHING in this Scene.

However, I do care about writing, and since @Pirate has graciously permitted me with complete access to the front page along with the ability to write, edit & produce my own articles for you all to read, even if they're about things I don't care about, its worth it. I am currently taking a Journalism college course and I'm passing that with flying colors and at the same time I've been writing articles here on PS3Hax -- personally it's a win-win situation. It's great experience, I just don't care about anything I'm writing about is all. In spite of this, I believe I've done my job well. Some may argue this but that's irrelevant.

I don't know what I should do. I just feel done and I know a lot of you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Writing about stuff you don't care about, will lead you to hate what you are doing, i suggested you start writing news here, so you would get a tiny bit of experience before you went on to bigger stuff, but if you really don't care anything about the PS3 Scene, then GTFO

I voted don't care

Some of your articles are/were worthy of my reading time and some were not.
But it's my choice to read them or not.

You have the chance to write here and as you said, you like doing that.
It's a good practice and if I were you I'd keep doing that.
If you become a journalist you'll have to write stories about things that don't really interest you so this is a good way to get used to it

Life is a journey and we all move on to new things. Why not let your 'careless' attitude towards the scene be used for good. If you were to keep writing articles about PS news then I believe it would be a great opportunity for you to work on validity, fact finding and a balanced narrative. Something in which this scene can lack at times. Good luck.

That's a shame. Treat yourself to a PS3 and keep on writing

Honestly, there is no point in writing for a site, when you don't even care about the members of the site, or don't care about the devs on the site etc, or even for the site.

As the members, Devs and site are part of "this scene" you just basically sh*t on every member of this board.

its best to write about something you are passionate about...if your heart isnt in the subject matter it will reflect in the way you write about it...hate to say it but its true ...take a break ...buy a ps3 .... then see where you are .... whatever you decide you have my best wishes.

its not really an issue of whether not we think you should write.
but more a question of, do you still want to write here?

I didn't mean it like that. Really. I guess I should have worded that last part a little differently. I don't have a problem with the members. If we lived within walking distance, for example, I wouldn't mind hanging out with the majority of you in real-life. We just couldn't talk about anything PS3 related.

Your under no obligation to continue, its not your job . If your still enjoying the writing then have at it in fact your neutral stance would be a positive element in your writing here at hax. My sister in a journalist and through her I can understand the difference between just writing and writing about something you interested in, one is pleasure the other can feel like a chore. I feel (though very thoughtful of you) your asking permission to leave when the choice is all yours and I dont want you to feel forced to continue I'd rather you found something you enjoyed writing about.

Whatever you choose Im grateful you took the time to post news here at hax.
