Shouldn't we be able to downgrade without hardware or even opening our PS3s?
I mean with the keys this should actually be possible. Like they already wrote in the PS3dev wiki.

Good riddance to clips... They are the worst most system killing invention I've ever seen from back when Intel had them for their processor enhancers to the unstable PS2 frying DMS EZI crap. I'm glad someone realizes the should go the way of the Dodo. Soldering is secure. Don't know how - then learn.

Because .PUP files with downgrade, jailbreak, or whatever you want to install must have signed content. Otherwisely, PS3 will refuse to install it. They've updated the updater in 3.56 - notice the Inception here :> - and since then no one figured out how to sign update packages - or rather no one figured the required keys, method is already there - so that PS3 will recognize them as official and install them.

Yes it will. But you cannot downgrade it. all progskeets will work on any console but some may not be able to downgrade. such as 3k and 4k

Hope there will be big improvement. Tech support sucks too. Its quite difficult to ask questions and get answers not like tx who have solid tech support.

Man, wtf? What's wrong with the current Progskeet that warrants a new version that seems to only take away features? (for nor/nand clips)

They took a look at Sony's business model. Build quality hardware and take away features as time goes on.
