Got a problem and wondering if you'd have any ideas on it.

I followed the softmod guide by mauifrog and managed to see the Wii to boot straight into wiiflow r348 (included in his guide) by setting it in priiloader.

Was having no problem but decided to update to the latest version by deleting the old one from the sd card and putting the new one on it.

The old version loaded instantly but this one is taking forever to start and when I try to start a game the screen goes blank for like 5 minutes then just goes back to the loader.

Any ideas short of going back to r348?

I tried USB Loader GX and it works ok but I need to go through the HBC for that to work plus it's ugly compared to wiiflow!

Whoa that's an old guide!

2 Ideas:

1: When updating, dont just swap the dols, Have you removed the x:/apps/wiiflow/wiiflow.ini? or the x:/wiiflow/settings/ folder? (each of those could cause issues with the newer versions ESPECIALLY if you are updating from r348 to r804).

(remember to back up any ini's/codes/box covers you might need IF you have a custom set up, if not, dont worry about it, wiiflow will create what it needs if it doesnt exist).

2: Are you loading a forwarder .dol from priiloader?
If so update it: http://code.google.com/p/wiiflow/downloads/list (sept 4th)

Pretty sure the AHBPROT method got adjusted more recently than r348 and so a newer forwarder dol is required to load the latest wiiflow with full permissions.

If all else fails back up your wiiflow directory, (rename it to "WIIFLOW BAK" or something) and start from scratch, a lot of the time its caused by having old config/settings ini's conflicting with newer revisions. Doing this means you can test and revert if needed, and should clear this issue up very quickly.

Cheers for that, got a weekend of boozing lined up now so be Monday night before I can check it out!

Whoops I'm a little lagging right now ;P

Download:
WiiFlow 4.0.5

Changes:
Here is 4.0.5, and again it focuses on bugfixing, the bugs introduced with 4.0.3 are just too critical and still not fully fixed, I hope this time we have found the most annoying ones
In short that revision fixes more memory leaks, hopefully fixes all the device mounting issues your guys had, also plugins should display correctly now, not with the half of it missing, booting gamecube games in neek hopefully works now, wiiflow should basically run in wiiu wii mode (you cannot boot wii or gamecube games yet, channels homebrew and plugins work), added support for the new homebrew channel 1.1.1 and newer, wiiflow will automatically reload the cache if a new version is found from now on to prevent bugs or missing games, the general boot method changed from everything wiiflow can boot, that is a bit cleaner, you shouldn't notice any noticable difference though, its more in the code, also I've added a battery bar so you can actually see the power level of your wiimotes, you can find it in the home menu, the debug messages should be cleaner and more detailed now, also the wifi gecko is improved, it should be at least as good as the sd gecko now, still it cannot print as much as the usb gecko.
Yea, that should be everything important for now, we will see us with the next release again, wiiflow is not dead just because of the wiiu, its wii mode can play wiiflow perfectly fine so I wont forget working on it if anybody thought that :P
Plugin pack v7:
http://wiiflow.googlecode.com/files/...ins_Pack_v7.7z

Changes:
This plugin pack contains alot of emulators as you will notice, just check out all inis to get to know which ones are inside now
Just a few words on some special things:
At first, make sure you install the "WiiFlowLoaderChannel v2 - WIIH.wad" in the wad folder of this pack if you havent done that yet, otherwise the plugins will not return to wiiflow as they should.
You can use mplayer-ce, genplusgx and wiisx roms/movies from a NTFS partition, just set wiiflow to your NTFS one in the plugin coverflow. The other plugins are FAT/FAT32 only.
Last, if you use some retroarch based emulators it might be that you need to start the original retroarch first and play a game from its original menu if you want to use the autoboot mod this pack contains.
Have fun with this pack and may check out this topic for help:
http://gbatemp.net/topic/329590-wiif...ion-and-setup/
EDIT:

I am having issues with 4.0.5, it crashes and dumps 50% of the time, so I will test all revisions and step back until they work.

EDIT 2:

r813 = (AKA) 4.0.5 : Crashes 50/50

r808 = Working link: http://www.caseyomah.com/wiiflow/Wii...d/808/boot.dol <-last working rev for me
r807 = Working
r806 = Working
r805 = Working
r804 = Working
