I don't think n0drm understands the importance of patching the latest update, they refuse to do so (not that they are forced to and I'm grateful for all the fixes) they want people to get online without the latest update which you can, however that comes with problems , can't play with OFW peeps, and less people overall when it comes to finding players. *just my thoughts*

With this you won't find as much games as with the real 1.22: You're ending up with other pirates playing
![]() The way on-line works in CoD games is that they matchmake to internal version numbers. And, there's no real server-side (someone is always the host, no need for Activision to rent game servers hehehe). Anyway if everyone is pirating it, no problem, plenty of opponents hahaha

The fix that #donkiernan posts, only updates the param.sfo, not the main game executable(s).If launched, it passes with Sony's on-line/update checks for 1.22.. and you stay signed into PSN.
So if you use it, the game's eboot(s) still are from 1.21, internal version 1.505.something, i don't have the game running now,but it's in the corner of the screen. Activisions 'linking' with other players works on the 'internal version' level. So say 1.21 = v1.505.1, it will find sessions with others at v1.505.1 only. (For completeness, let's assume the 1.22 is v1.505.2.) If they don't log too much or complain to sony with psn id's, you can still play, but only with others that run this same 'patched' version only. If enough people run it, and Activision decides to shut down the matchmaking for older versions + report id's to Sony, you might be screwed at one point as well

So basically the internal number that gets updated is mainly for security, and most likely the update doesn't ad anything noticeable to the game and/or game play, unless you play with official firmware which you will notice not a whole lot of hackers. Well, I'd stay away from playing online with cfw unless there is a for sure hack that will not get me reported or banned.
