Resistor? Transistor? broke off near Samsung NOR chip (DYN-001)

Here is my story:

Just got a new CECH-2004B console on 3.66OFW. I opened it, connected E3 flasher on the nor chip (I noticed it didnt click in like on FAT models) - reassambled the console and started backing up. Backup was ok, i validated it and all went fine. I then tried to downgrade the console but unexpectly the console shut down itself....brick.

I opened the console to see whats wrong and i saw that i forgot to connect the cable for the fan. So the console shut down itself to prevent damaging from overheating. I then connected the Tristate point to a GND point on the motherboard and checked e3 connection (again fuzzy connection with the nor chip). I reassambled the console again and it stayed on. Tried again and again to downgrade the console with prepatched dump but with no luck. (10001100 Failed to initialize PS3 BIOS or 10001111 Failed to write PS3 BIOS came up every time on e3 flasher)

I opened the console again and pushed very hard on the e3 clip to connect propably. Problem: A transistor? resistor? near the nor chip broke off the console. I soldered it on again (i dont know if i did it propably). Now when i turn on the ps3, the fan goes like crazy and then the console shutsoff itself with a blinking red light. The leds on the e3 flasher are not turning on. (However, the cable from the tristate point to gnd is still connected)

Is there any solution for this or is my console for the trash? Do you think the resistor? transistor? is the problem and its not soldered propably? Please help!

Make sure you have the first switch up on the flasher.
The lights aren't coming on, probably because the clip is not on good. To avoid the transistor, I had to modify my clip like http://www.ps3hax.net/showpost.php?p...1&postcount=18.

If after doing that and having the clip on good, it should stay on. If it doesn't, then something was damaged from not having the fan on. Or maybe that transistor.

Upload a closeup pic of the soldered transistor.

maybe a resistor, yep I had the same problem while connecting e3 flasher the resistor broke off ( dyn-001, samsung,2004b ) but without that resistor console worked fine.

so sony is ripping us of with unneeded parts?

it's probably a capacitor, there are loads of them to keep the chips stable, a damaged resistor would be an issue i think.

Nevermind guys, i fixed it. Recovered it from the brick and its now on 4.21 DEX.

The problem wasnt the resistor? transistor? capacitor...whatever... i bought a multimeter today and the thing was soldered ok. No shorts whatsoever.

The problem was that the e3 flasher clip wasnt connected propably. I fixed it with the coin and card board trick (i taped a coin on top of the clip and on the coin a piece of cardbard and reassambled the console. The lights on the e3 flasher came up immediately - propably.

I was able to flash the prepatched nor dump to the nor and i continued with the FSM and etc.

Thank god it wasnt for the trash - thnx god

Thank you all for your help guys!
