any info well i got a ps3 phat from a mate that had ylod and i put new thermal paste on it and heated up the board with a heat gun so put it back together and got it working so it was on 3.21 firmware so i upgraded it to 3.55 cfw and loaded the latest multiman on it but when i go into load multiman i get a black screen so i restart the ps3 again and i get back to the main screen i get all the icons and that but it wont run multiman or anything else just goes to blank screen its on hdmi and ive tryed the av multi out also but nothing still comes up not even the dvd drive wont show up a game its a CHCHC04 model phat i also put rebug 3.55 on it to see if it sorts it out but i get the same thing a blank screen when i run multiman and other homebrew stuff , can it be the rsx chip or something else wrong i have 2 phats running 3.55 and 2 slims running 3.55 with 1tb drives so anybody got any info on this would be great as its a shame to strip it for parts when its running 3.55 firmware and i can give it to someone to use it

i once had an issue with an 40GB ps3, the blue led (dvd drive) was on while no disc inside, had to press eject on startup to get it off.

if the blue led was on with no disc inside multiman would not load, usb access was slow as hell....
in my case the drive had dead motors, could not repair that.

take a close look if the flat cable from the drive is properly inserted on the 2 ends.

the cable on the drive is okay i reseated them but i still get a blank screen even if i try to play a game from the drive and also with a hard drive though multiman as multiman wont show up to any info on this
