Trouble building EFL

been trying to get EFL to build all day. cloned the git twice to make sure there wasn't a problem there. Everything goes fine till i get to build_ps3efl.sh. I keep getting this error.

Error:
configure: WARNING: if you wanted to set the --build type, don't use --host.
If a cross compiler is detected then cross compile mode will be used
checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking host system type... powerpc64-ps3-elf
checking for powerpc64-ps3-elf-gcc... powerpc64-ps3-elf-gcc
checking whether the C compiler works... no
configure: error: in `/home/evilsperm/Desktop/ps3dev/EXTLIBS/EFL-PS3/escape':
configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details

I can see that it says the c compiler doesn't work, but why. I'm using @evilsperm s ubuntu vm on virtualbox. Any ideas?

I believe evilsperm's is psl1ght v1. I believe EFL is only compatible with v2.

Hey! it would probably be better if you build psl1ght v2 yourself... that vm is severely outdated...

check this -> http://psl1ght.net/wiki/TutorialInstall

My thoughts exactly, I would suggest dual-booting or wubi. If you need any help, feel free to post again, and we'll get you to where you need to go.

That should do the trick, though I still recommend linux, it's good for you.

lol, I'm on fedora 17. I meant install a linux os and toss windows. I never use my windows partition, I just use wine if I actually need a windows app, which is rare.

Thank you guys for the replies. I have been considering switching to Linux for a couple of weeks now(so much easier than cygwin). I tried to build the v1 v2 merged psl1ght, and toolchain.sh kept failing, but I got it to build all the way to curl. Should I just scrap that one and go for v2?

Yes v1 won't be of much use to you unless your trying to build old sources or thatotherdev's work, and most of it won't take much effort to port to v2.

Did you switch to linux? If so, which one? Just curious.
