Controller only flashing lights after being spilled on and then cleaned up
I accidentally spilled some cola on my controller as I was leaving for my one week vacation and didn't have time to take care of it then(in hindsight I should probably at least have splashed it with water before I left). When I got back home it would flip up and down very rapidly in the menus whenever I turned it on. So I took it apart and as expected there was dried fluid on the circuit board. I cleaned it of with some ethyl acetate/isopropyl alcohol solution(it was the best option at the time) and put it back together.
Now it wont turn on on itself and whenever I plug it in it only blinks. All four lights. It's a little odd because it sort of blinks unevenly at times. Faster at first, and then at the usual pace. Anyone know what I could have screwed up? Is it fixable? Or should I just throw it away and save myself the headache. Thanks for any help! I can upload pictures of the circuit board later if it matters. You can see where the fluid was spilled. |

Bah. Not the answer I was hoping for. Thanks either way though.
Edit: In case I do get it to work I will update here for archival purposes. In case anyone else ran into a similar problem. In other words, if there's no more update. Toss your controller. Last edited by Ohls; 09-02-2012 at 11:47 AM. |

same thing just happened to me earlier..only light blink if u connect usb cable..and then again its turned of itself..reset button doesnt work either..i can give u hint if u want to power on the controller..but trust me..only the left analog will work..the rest dead...
here is the tip plug the usb cable with pc..and put the controller beside the ps3..and after all 4 light blink..wait for the controller to turned of itself..then turn the ps3 on..and the controller will get the power....but again its useless.. got the tip from youtube..there is turotial for this exact situation |
