Ok lets look at the situation from a different angle:

this time around it's not fixed eboots that are going to be released but a full blown cfw which means that with 99% of probability peek and poke are going to be enabled and dumping the memory will be possible.

So what does this mean?

It's pretty simple(granted that Blue Dick hasn't somehow disabled/limited homebrews): we won't even need 4.21 cfw anymore because we could just have someone who bought the useless dongle dump the decrypted eboots from the system memory or maybe even extract the keys needed to decrypt them and then simply resign to play on 3.55.

Finally a nice thought-filled reply.

You bring up some valid points, but I will address the $20 question. Like you said most people wouldn't care if you had to plug in a device if it meant having access to every single PS3 game released at their fingertips. Most people who end up with these things don't even know how a CFW functions and couldn't even comprehend 99% of a CEX-DEX guide. You know, the ones that either take a chance and buy it themselves or get one from a local dealer.

Per your support. In my experience Team's come and go. Some products like Xecuter are known for continuous support, but others dissolve for various reasons. It's just the nature of the beast. I'd just weigh the current functionality vs the price and in this situation a jump from running unpatched games for 3.55 to running them up to 4.21 is giant leap (I don't count patching as you should be able to just boot the original iso/files).

As for charging for something that you created or taking the donation route I believe if you created something and you can do what you want with it. If people buy what you're selling then I guess there was a need for it. All these "should be"'s and "because it's possible" doesn't change anything. If you think it "should be" or "it's possible" then go implement, program, hack, crack up something so that people won't spend money on the thing you despise as whining about it isn't going to do anything other then give the software/product free PR.

We don't know if the product will get released yet...it's still a rumour. Nothing confirmed so far.

If this BlueDisk get's out well the death of TB was not accidental this year.
So will have to play the cat and mouse game for a while (if it's reachs the market) and see what happens.
Thinking on the future of this is....pretty useless for this moment.
We know there's a possibility but we have no official confirmation of this new DRM device.

I've been with this scene for 2 yrs now and all i see is back biting and complaining the 360 scene is so quiet yes we complain at times but we know were all in it together I truly enjoy my ps3 and the sights it can be taken to we have to kill this crabs in a barrel thing and work together

Another thing to consider is that this Chinese one (and presumably Rebug) will both be 4.21.
Thats great to be able to update and all but theres only going to be a few extra games that you retail gamers will get to play than what is achievable now with the new patched EBOOTs or DEX.

If you buy this dongle youre an idiot because Teams have shown they can patch 4.2x games (Tekken etc)
This dongle will save you a couple minutes in downloading a patch.

There must have been something that changed in 4.25 otherwise we'd be seeing 4.25 CFW videos, gits etc.

personnaly i couldn't give a sh1t i got a fat ps3 on cfw kmeaw 3.55 and an xbox 360 on lt+ 3.0.
I use the ps3 for games i can run but mostly for psn/psone titles.
I use the x360 for all other games fck they only cost me £2.00 delivered.

i am more than happy with what i get from the scene.
to all the little boys who want everything for nothing try doing the same thing i do no hassles and you get what you want.

devs don't have to share they do all the work and as far as i am concernd if they do spend countless hours making a cfw4.21 shouldn't they get something back.

i would love to see all these little tw@ts who want something for nothing contribute time/code/cash to these devs.

yes metronmac you said what i am attempting to say in a very concise way...i have had all my consoles hacked since i was 12 playing snes (yes it is true!) and never have i seen anything like the ps3 scene....mainly i play 360 and while the dvd copiers/iso loaders have all sorts of hoops to go through the jtagged rgh community goes through nothing at all like this and i don't think they would put up with it...and trust me ms has hella security and is constantly updating...i guess it is just the nature of the exploit hardware vs firmware but still it just seems weird i pop on one console and reliably can play all the latest games with no drama and another one it's like

well the eboot file is out but uh you need a dongle oh wait that dongle got hacked oh whatdayaknow a new dongle has appeared...

this is just silly...

A lot of people bricked their ps3 or got some other issues after installing 4.25 ofw so maybe that's the reason why they used 4.21.
