Hi guys , im kinda new here but im not new to the hacking scene. I'm only new to the PS3 hacking scene.

I have a few inquiries regarding downgrading a PS3 Cechb-2001b fw 4.11

Fisrt off i already started the downgrade process but while running around searching for an answer for the problem that i will outline below , i realized that some ps3 can brick if you downgrade them lower than the firmware it came with

My first question is how can i verifiy the orig fw of a CECHB-2001b ?

Secondly , I was following the video tutorial on E3's website to downgrade
and everything went smooth , i got a few bkpps3.bin and im at the part where you have to unplug the ps3 and enter factory service mode. I tried it with my ipodtouch 1g and ZaxtronFrontEnd img with no succes. the ps3 never shuts itself off and boot into xmb while on the ipod i can see device5_wait_ready

The ipod is plugged into the most far right usb port . Where am i failing ? am i forced to buy a e3card reader or a ps3Downgrade dongle ?

Use minfwchecker.pup to know your Orig fw, ( Anyway your ps3 can be downgraded to 3.55 ) I personally use e3 card reader and it works perfect, ( Now where exactly are you ? ), First connect your ipod to the ps3 ( right USB port ) and turn on the console ( pressing on and eject button ) and try

And to give you more information on where i'm at , I've done every step thats goes from updating the e3 flasher with update.bin , I got my Nor Flash files i repeated the steps a few times to make sure they were okay ( bkpps3.bin ), and then i did the part where you have to wait around 10mins with all the switch down but the last and then here i am where i have to enter factory service mode

Anyways so what i understood was that the e3card reader puts the ps3 into factory service mode but since i dont own one i thought id do it with my ipodtouch so i got ZaxtronFrontEnd 's android img and tried to use the service mode "Jig" but my ps3 doesnt shut itself and it doesnt look like the ipod get a response from the ps3

Anyways i apologies for my cloudy explanations i dont know the terms yet .
