I just simply transfer the video files to the USB and then watch them on it, no longer any need to convert or have subtitles burned in to the video.

Unfortunately I can't watch Spanish TDT channels. -.-"
Sorry for the off topic, but i thought Crown made paint, not electronics

Nice clone of a Dreambox

My Dreambox 800HD does the same for me for over 4 years
Streaming from Nas (DLNA) no problem and all MKV's play, Showtime sadly doesn't and the same goes for my build in player in my Sharp TV...

Just replaced the Dreambox's internal HDD with a 1.5 Tb external eSata HDD. Going to do the same with the PS3, add a eSata port to it using the internal Sata and connect a 3 Tb eSata drive to it
3 Tb internal

Ps3's HDD Space can't go over 1TB as @euss stated a while back. You can find it on the wiki.

Well new CFW is allways a good thing...
either if you have a 3k or 4k (provided the cfw would be able to install on those)

(dowgradable ps3s are like museum pieces man a friend of mine wanted to give me 450€ for my CECH-2004A wtf?!)

On another hand if this hipotetically cfw is only able to install on 3.55 but has 4.x keys it has it's benefits... most of us understand the concepts of patching eboots and stuff... but in the name of lazyness i would be happy if i could insert a disk 355< and play it out of the box...

peace...

Not sure about internal, but via external usb hdd the max partition it can recognise is 2TB.

So buying a 3TB hdd is kindda a waste of money seeing as the PS3 will not detect a 3TB partition, so you have to make a 2TB and 1TB one, and even then it will only detect one of those partitions and ignore the other.

However you can buy 2 2TB hdd and swap them when needed.

I think the 1TB internal limit is really due to the size of all 1TB 2.5" sata drives, as well as quiet a few 750GB ones; the height of the drive has to be 9.5mm in order to fit in the PS3 hdd bay, 1TB drive have 3 platters which make them 12mm in height so cannot fit in the bay unless you cut away the plastic to make space.

Not sure what the limit is if you use a sata cable extention to connect an external hdd to the ps3 internal port though.

Hah, now that you say it.. The only game I really desire on my PS3 still, with all the fixes out is the Ratchet and Clank Trilogy... I guess that 10% rule is right

2. DEX can play the other 5 % of games.
3. There are no new features in the firmware that we really need.
4. People above 3.55 cant install it. (hence it doesn't help anyone above 3.55)

the only good reason i see fit for a new cfw would be so that we don't have to jack around with fixing eboots. But other than that I don't see any real use for one yet. feel free to discuss.
The reason is: Milking the scene of its money. Just like the dongles before it.
