Different 4.25?

I've flashed a few PS3's now with the "E3", after bricking one, I got the hang of it now. Last week I flashed a 2001 with version that I updated via USB to 4.25- no problem. This week after upgrading another 2001 to 4.25- copied the NOR- verified (with Flow and HexD) I tried to flash. No problem. Used downgrade jig- no problem. When I went to install the modified PUP it went to "plug in controller" screen- then red screen of death (multiple languages alternating flash screen). So no problem just flash the original NOR and start again right? Did that- after it wiped the HD (no problem) I got the "data corrupt" error. No problem downloaded 4.25 again- still error. Different USB- still error. Found a 4.25 PUP that WORKED on another PS3 that I did last week- when cpoying over the newer PUP there both 192 MB- but my computer says the NEW one is LARGER than the one from last week and when I tried to load it- says "No applicable update data..." usually reserved for trying to update with a lower version. But it's 4.25! I also tried it with system restore- same thing- the PUP from THIS week (4.25) is "corrupt" the SAME version from LAST week "No applicable update version..."
I'm lost here!

go to the wiki and download the update from there.
now you have a working update and were all on the same page.

take your usb stick and fully format it (not quick format)
now put your new update on the stick (rename it & put it in the folders)

it should now update.

report back and quote me so i know you have replied

Thank you That worked. Flasher works- downgrade works- dual boot works. If you look at the properties of the Sony UPDATE and the UPDATE from wiki- they are NOT the same size.
