Hi everyone,
First of all, i'm a complete noob to this... I've been given a PS3 with firmware 1.97 with Blueray broken. After a few forum visits, i´ve decided to update it to 3.41 after trying to hack. But the problem starts then... I've putted the OFW 3.41 on a USB stick formated in FAT32 and created the respectives folders. At the end, it gave me an error, asked to restart and i´ve never seen it "alive" again... Since that point, i´ve read it somewhere that FW under 2.50 does not come with Recovery Menu, so i can´t unbrick the console.... Can anyone help me, pleaseee????? |

what is the error code the ps3 gives?
do u have a other hdd u could put if the ps3 . if so put it in the ps3 and see if it boot to the xmb after it formates the hhd . if it goes to the xmb then your out the update loop . what u need to do now is find get a firmware thats got the blu ray bypass . or u could use mfw builder and make your own bypass fw little head ups if it the logic board on the bluray drive thats broke then , u wont be able to use any back up mangers or psn games or homebrew . untill u get a new logic and remarry . we get to that part if it need later . try what i said above and get back if u havent got a spare hhd then u could formate the hdd u got via pc/laptop

hi again,
The problem is that after the error, the ps3 reboots and after that i got no video/audio, so i couldt remember the error, but i have sure that it hangs up on 99%. I´ve already tried with the hdd reformatted in fat32, a new hdd and putted a new blueray drive in the console, but nothing... Tried to put it in recovery mode (i know, the fw doesnt have it), but i tried it.... In this moment i don´t have an hdd from another ps3, since my friends are Xbox superfans and none have ps3..... I´ve tried too the lv2diag.self method, but nothing happens....... |
