Post Ylod when cold but works when it warms up?

My ps3 shuts down even when cold with 3 beeps and a flashing red light. It goes off after 10-20secs of turning it on. The first three attempts will do the same thing. At fourth attempt, the ps3 stays on without problems. Then it will only shutdown again at like 30-50secs of loading any game. If I don't try to run any game the ps3 will stay on.
Please help!

PS3 CECHK01 80gb model
500gb hdd inside

I use it horizontally. It does turn off when cold. For example, I haven't used it for 24hrs, then right now I decided to use it,
1. turned on and stayed on for 7 secs, it beeps 3 times the shows the yellow light then flashes red until I touch the power button again.
2. turned on for the second time and only lasted 18 secs, it beeps 3 times the shows the yellow light then flashes red until I touch the power button again.
3. turned on for the third time and only lasted 7 secs, it beeps 3 times the shows the yellow light then flashes red until I touch the power button again.
4. turned on for the fourth time and this time it stays on forever If i dont try to run games.

After trying to run a game it turns off...
it beeps 3 times the shows the yellow light then flashes red until I touch the power button again.
I have to do those 4 steps fast so the console can get a little warmup because if try to turn it on leaving minutes pass by between power on's the console will keep going to step 1 as stated above. Its like the console needs a warmup to work, but then fails to load games.
The console is in a very ventilated area with 2 12v fans attached to it.

You have the YLOD.

Use the backup utility to backup your stuff, while you can.

You will need to get it reballed or reflowed to fix it.

I finally got another PS3 to practice reballing on and BAM I messed up again but this time I did much better . This time instead of distrpying the chips I somehow managed to rip up some of the BGA pads. I have one final PS3 left and I am going to research much more until I try on it since its a 80GB and I don't wanna mess it up (I want a 60GB again lol). The reason why I'm not going to a professional is I want to gain this skill, I have 3 cheapo graphics cards I can test on as well. Any tips lol besides telling me to not do it?

@TizzyT

I think the trick is not to heat the chips for too long. I have seen guides saying 15 minutes. When in reality it should only be like 15 seconds. And keeping the heat gun moving at all times.

Wrapping the board in aluminum foil (shiny side out) except the chips, should help.
Also don't be stingy with the flux. Use a lot.

I was successful with oven trick. It worked for me on a slim I did when I first started trying to fix ps3s. But I tried it on a couple phats and it didn't work. So I stopped trying that. LOL.
This guide for the oven fix, looks better than what I tried though.

This is a real good guide to do a reflow with a heat gun.

It has 3.55CFW installed.

UPDATE**
I did the reflow on it and it did not get better nor worse, its just doing the same thing as explained above. what other things could cause this?
The temperatures of the cpu and rsx gathered by multiman are the following,
Cpu=66C
RSX=66C

After the fourth time of turning it on, I played a 3d bluray movie and it never shutdown, but it will shutdown with any game.

Hey man. I got a handful of ylod consoles. You are welcome to practice on them for learning experience if you would like. I was gonna either get them reballed and sell them or list them as is on eBay, but if you need some practice and wanna learn I would be glad to give them to you. Anything to help a fellow scene member. Oh yeah, I am in the USA. If you're interested let me know.

That is a very nice offer but I would rather have my own console broken instead of someone's else's console. Like you mentioned you were either going to get them reballed yourself or sell them and so those PS3s are still of value to you and I simple do not like taking things for free (doesn't mean I'd buy either I'm a poor college kid in loan debt lol). Although thanks again for the kind offer, nice to see people willing to help to such extent in the scene/world, makes me feel all fuzzy inside lol. have a nice day .
