Well apparently according to that video it's not the **** of a bull.
Saying that, The PS4 will probably be out next year, so is there any point buying the WiiU when I already have the MOVE controllers? I don't think so. |

According to Moore's law, it doesn't sound so unlikely I think.
According to Moore's law, we have the function: f(x)=b*a^x where b is 1(the starting value), a is the rate at which it increases per month, and since Moore's law says the processing power doubles each 18 month, we have f(x)=1*18th_root(2)^n or f(x)=1,0392592260318433997101300831673^n where n is the amount of months.. The PS3 was released 71 months ago in two days, so: it should be possible for it according to Moore's law to be 15,4 times faster. ![]() Not completely off we most likely need to make our starting month December when the Wii U is released, since we made our calculations from the launchdate of the PS3 (it isn't completely correct.. It would most likely be better, if we used the start development dates, or the dates at which they agreed on what technology to use, but whatever). If we use december, it would be then have been 73 months since it was released, which gives us the number 16,6. So according to Moore's law, it should be possible that it is 16,6 times faster. ![]() ************* [ - Post Merged - ] *************
Maybe the reason is that Blu-Ray is a proprietary format from Sony, and Nintendo would have to pay licensing fees. The same reason that the PS3 does not support NTFS. It's a proprietary format from Microsoft. |

@stevorkz
Nintendo probably felt like Wii U was better only as a gaming console than making it a home media device so they ditched paying $ony for the full use of Blu-ray in Wii U.
It can be used for films, series and music but all of it has to be digital. LOVEFiLM, NetFlix, Hulu, etc. |

@DEFAULTDNB , I don't know if you've seen this yet but it's a video that's been leaked on the web. Nobody knows where it came from. There's lot's of speculation as to whether or not this is fake. Personally, I think it's real because fan made video's just don't have this type of quality. The other speculation is whether it will be released for Wii-U or 3DS. I think it's obviously Wii-U. Anyways, check it out. I found it to be pretty mind blowing if it is real... If more is needed, which I doubt, there's always the option of installing it on the HDD / Flash Memory of 8 GB or 32 GB, even tho, it really isn't a lot.
I'd fill up 32 GB very quickly. 250 GB or 320 GB, Nintendo! |

Actually, I could believe the "x19 times better" if they meant the build quality, like, better cooling, soldering, material for case and over build quality but about the processing power it's just silly to even attempt to say publically such thing, you are technicaly getting publicaly rediculated. Normaly computing power gets nearly doubled in a gap of roughly 4-6 years, which is something well known to anyone using PCs, Video Game Consoles and generaly anything that has a processor in it. So why would somebody be so stupid and claim such thing when the target group he is pointing at won't believe him? Pfff...
Also: I don't get the whole concept of "propertiary disc format" thing about piracy There is not even one console that used propertiary disc (or any propertiary media in general) that haven't been hacked to date, and obviously such thing wasn't even a bit limmiting or blocking hackers to hack the system. So why would they keep on the same tactic? Gamecube is using GCD format discs. Was that a problem for hackers? Not even near... Dreamcast is using GDI format discs. Was that a problem for hackers? Not even even a bit. Wii is using a DVD-based format disc. Was that a problem for hackers? Nope, not even 0,1% They are just limmiting themselfs with this making-everything-propertiary tactic. They think they win but in reality they become a target. Even if they did win, the lose more than what they win...
