All I can say is oops!

So I was gonna try that drivefix for DEX bd remarry. I haven't used my DEX console in a few days, (I might of been a little high also) and I forgot I updated to DEX 4.20 to play Twisted Metal.
I realized when the disc came out as I entered FSM.

So, my question is:

Do I have to fix this by using my e3 flasher, to flash my original bios? Or is there some fancy way in all these debug settings to downgrade to DEX 3.55, while in FSM?

Have you tried to downgrade to 3.55 with the DG PUP? I'm not suggesting you do, just curious if you've tried and what happens...

Yeah, I tried the DG PUP and the Rogero DG PUP from system update. But it says no applicable update data was found.
I tried to enter the recovery menu, but I guess there is no recovery menu, when in FSM. It will do the beeps, but then just shuts off, instead of the connect controller screen.

You say "my e3flasher" So I assume you own one?

If so try to downgrade to 3.55 dex without it, then use the lvl2diag file to exit service mode. If this works let us know.

If it does not work then you will need to flash your original bios, but you may need to go through the downgrade process, it all depends on what firmware version your original bios backup was made.

At any rate your ps3 is 100% fixable if you have a hardware flasher.

Yeah, I figured I need to use the flasher. I have already downgraded this console, so I have CEX 4.20 backup, and CEX 3.55 backup.
I should of made a backup on DEX and I would just have to flash that.

I guess I'll be more careful next time. LOL.

Well, you're in a pickle then. All of the Lv2diag.self files leaked so far are revoked on 3.56+, so *maybe* what you could try is to unself the downgrade Lv2diag.self and re-sign it with 3.60 keys? Or is it the file version that's revoked? Can that be binary edited and then resigned?

Or just use your flasher and downgrade, but where's the exploration in that?

Try to connect to it with target manager! You have the option to install firmware from the PC.

Well I finally just used my flasher to fix.

I couldn't get target manager to connect to my PS3.

Now that I think about it though, do you need to have it connect to the network by Ethernet cable? I was trying wireless.

Oh well, It's back on NewDEXKamel. :D

hi there m8 i have done exactly what you did and got it stuck in fsm on 4.20 dex. can i just ask how you got out i have a e3 flasher and i have a backup this backup was the one i had when i first downgraded from 4.21. is there any way of you telling mi how to use the backup as i am now stuck. thanks m8
