Some xbox flashing questions
Tomorrow comes my XBOX360 and I want to flash the cd drive`s firmware with the one which enables me to play my backed up games. The process as far as I understand is to open the XBOX360 and connect the cd drive to my PC. This is not a problem as far as connecting the SATA goes, but to connect the power I apparently cannot use the power supply from the xbox360, or can I? People say that this is possibly a reason for your console to get banned from going online ever again. Is this true?
Secondly if after one or two years I buy a game and make a backup of it. Will this backup still work on my console or will I need to flash the cd-rom again with the newest firmware for playing my backups? Also, I am not good with soldering stuff. Do I need to solder anything in order to flush the console with JungleFlasher. I read on a forum that you need to have some kind of pin to open the drive half way. I don’t get why this would be necessary if the drive has power from the xbox360. Can somebody clear this out for me. Tnanks to anyone who answers |

You can power the drive with a molex from your PC (i'd suggest to use a power switch / eject device in between there, to toggle power on.off etc.) also if i where you i should invest in a X360USB device which easily lets you flash the drive easily via a USB connection and is fully compatible with JF. Also for future updates it'll be easier to ''update'' your flash.
*maybe there are some newer tools out now, i still use those* No need to solder, just plug it in, flash it.. done. (depending on your DRIVE)

you need to use the 360's PSU to power on the DVD drive, and a sata cable to connect the drive to your computer.. YES, YOU CAN GET BANNED IF YOU'RE NOT CAREFUL! 2) C4Eva will probably not update LT without a good reason.. just make sure you're running the original software whenever you update your dashboard, and reflash LT after it's done updating.. 3) it all depens on your 360's drive.. if you just ordered a brand new 360, you'll probably have the LiteOn DG-16D5S 1532, which is not hacked just yet.. if you're lucky, you'll get the LiteOn DG-16D5S 1175,, which has been hacked, but is in it's testing phase.. ( NOTE: YOU NEED TEAM XECUTER'S PCB IN ORDER TO FLASH THE 1175! ) and if you have an older dvd drive, then well.. have fun flashing your box!

A genuine retail Halo 4 was released a day or two ago and people are saying the same thing. Absolute nonsense. Myths and bullcrap, same as "getting banned for turning on an Xbox 360 without a DVD drive connected". This does register an error code, but that is all there's no way on gods earth to verify that causes a ban or even conclusively hint it does. The only reason the thought is even entertained as being true is because it can't be proven to not be true. But if you go round assuming something is true unless it can be proven to be false then you'd be a retard (not saying you are at all, just how this rumour seems to go round and round and the broken logic of people's minds).

lol, I ment you can get banned for playing game backups.. not for using the hardware to power on your xbox..
afterall.. modding your console will stay a risk for online purpose

![]() You won't get banned for playing backups provided you're using up to date CFW and your backups are verified correctly by ABGX360, have correct "security sector", dmi, pfi and topology data and in case of XGD3 formatted disks burnt using an ihas burner flashed with burnermax firmware. The problem with this is that every year or two Microsoft have introduced new security measures that catch out the latest hacked firmware, which is then subsequently fixed by C4E, however since Microsoft strikes first, people then get banned during that period where a new firmware to combat the new checks hasn't been released. This was a problem roughly 3-4 times in the 6 years the Xbox 360 has been out and not been a problem for at least 12 months, i.e no new security features have been added to the dashboard or disks since the introduction of XGD3 disks. If you are on the latest hacked firmware and make proper backups, you will not be banned playing them online, that means you can play them early too as long as they are retail rips. As stated previously, you may be banned for playing a game early that isn't a retail rip. But you would be banned even if you played that after release date anyway. |

Man, if you follow what has been said, you're ok to go, and on-line with your backup games, you just need LT. 3.0 and games that are not patched(waves patched, etc.), Also, beware with the media you're going to use, bad quality ones can kill you're laser drive in a short time!
