Well having my PS3 hacked for a while, I really haven't had any use for the PS3 Homebrews really. and I really do miss my BD Playback, but I read somewhere that if I update my PS3 that it would fix my BD?

I don't wanna update to OFW just to learn that I'll never be able to fix my BD Playback

You should have BD playback with cfw. I do.

Depends what caused the loss of BD playback and what model your PS3 is.
Either way there's a way to have BD playback on CFW but it's a temporary fix and it causes issues with trophies if you don't run multiman once before running a game (doesn't matter with backups but does if you use originals).

I seen a thread at ps3crunch by Mark Webber that fixes that problem with the trophies and blu ray playback. If I can find it, I'll pm it to you.

It does not fix it. It's a temporary band-aid fix, the one I'm talking about above.
It involves simply using a CFW with SS patch.

There is another one. But it involves removing the MX25L1005 and flashing it with a programmer.

So the procedure will be: Using the "Remarry" files, edit the CFG file to have "Drive Init" set to 0 and "Install System Soft" set to 1 (assuming the drive is already married) Put 3.15 OFW PS3UPDAT.PUP onto the root of the drive. Downgrade to 3.15 (whatever method you like - but you will need to go into "Service Mode" anyway) Remove MX25L1005 Insert into programmer Copy entire contents to a file (Original.bin is nice) Edit file and replace EVERYTHING after 0xE000 with 0xFF Save file - Do not overwrite the original (keep it safe just incase) Write new file back to MX25L1005 Put MX25L1005 back onto the board Reassemble drive Put BD of choice into drive Boot with the USB (remarry) created in step 1 with a 3.15 PS3UPDAT.PUP on the root of the drive Once 3.15 is reinstalled, install your CFW of choice and send your DRL's to match the BD you used to "Dev_Flash3\DRL" You should now be good to go no matter what CFW or OFW you decide to use.

It's the 3.5 downgrade to 3.41 that caused it, I tried using DRL tools, and I used the highest MKB BD Movie I have (MKB 12), I am missing one movie which is the newest one and I believe it may be higher since the DRLtools fix didn't work with my MKB12 movie.

Honestly at this point I just want BD functionality and to be able to use my DLC's. I have been away from the PS3 scene for a while and I just wanna get everything fixed up before I go to OFW again. Anyways, could you post your method involving the SS patch? I'd like to use a permanent fix.

Oh also, if it ruins throphies, I really don't mind. I can get those back one day, I just don't wanna put all the money I had on DLC, PS3, PSP games down the drain

EDIT- The PS3 is CECHH01 or something

If it's CECHH01 the BD shouldn't have been broken during downgrade.
Example : Let's say you played 5 BD movies. The first one had MKB13, second MKB19, third MKB15, fourth MKB19, fifth MKB18. You need to get the DRL from the second movie. You might also want to try the "Restore File System" option of the recovery menu, for each MKB tested.
Also, you need to use the first movie with the highest MKB played on the PS3, not just any movie with highest MKB.

The SS patch doesn't ruin trophies, it makes you unable to run any game that has trophies, unless you run multiman beforehand.

Alright then, I'll go look for my missing BD movie and try to restore it that way. Also, do I need DRLtools to run on 3.41? or is it possible for me to run it on CFW 3.55? I've been just copying my DRL files via Awesome File Manager to dev_flash3/revoke/drl. I've seen all the DRL's on the 4 movies I already have they're 4, 4, 4, and 12, the one I'm missing is my latest one and I assume it has the highest MKB out of any of them because the 12 didn't even work. So there's no other sure methods to fix my BD Playback without causing too much damage other than DRLtools?

Do note, the CECHH01 has an earlier version that does mess up BD Playback. I've seen it on a chart somewhere, but apperantly I bought the last one that'd get it's BD Playback messed up. If I bought one like 6 months later, then I probably wouldn't be having this problem

Oh and also, in the case where I can't find my BD (it's space buddies), would I be able to just buy/rent another copy of it and just get the DRL's from that?

Only CECHA to CECHG can get BD playback messed up from downgrading.
If it is a CECHH, the only thing I can think of is playback being revoked because you played a recent BD that revoked older firmware.
When did you do that downgrade process?
