Thats it but in all honesty if we cam achieve the same goal they are trying to set by software it really is pointless in buying this. Sony can easily assign a new key to your DVD/Bluray drive through software so this is highly patchable. Most likely though they will let it slide as not many people would be in the market for forking out a $100. As of now it offers nothing that CFW/MFW can accomplish.

Edit: A.K.A it only offers us a stand point for two reasons
1.) If we can not patch games in the future than this can be used as a alternative.
2.) If they can find how to get the DVD Key without a CFW/MFW so that some 2500's, 3000's, and 4000's would be hackable(even though I do not condone piracy it still would be a advancement in the scene)

They need to be careful with their wording. I get what you mean, but its ambiguous to look like any moron could use this without ever having CFW on their machine.

A bit steep for something that, for now, can only be used by those who have a cfw console.

And yes, they need to word a little batter that part about not needing cfw to operate if they don't want to be submersed by customers reclaims.

I assume if the ps3 bd drive fails later it will be of no matter since the drive is being emulated?

I just read my comment and game ripping would be out of the question, but one should still be able to play their previously ripped games?
