I just compared the md5 and sha1 from my original cex request idps.txt And the one from the dump I just made. They are identical. So for some reason my ps3 has a fully cex flash but it can only install debug firmwares. I guess I'll update to 4.21 dex and see if it bricks or what. |

the manual convert not sure could be objsuite_set_idps doing this atleast the created "request_idps.txt" from the dexdump should read 82, then again butnut already tested, he have both values(cex&dex) ..oh no edit both CEX/84 and he can install/run DEX firm on cex...heheh this ps3 scene..ya gotta love it...tough one to

So, the "middle-man" (lol) changes it before sending the request.idps.txt back to you. That seems the only logical explanation. @Abkarino stated that he flashed a DEX firmware on CEX machine and it installed and worked? Is that right? If true, ObjSuites ignores the TargetID check doesn't it? EDIT: Just saw the post by @butnut Last edited by JonahUK; 10-17-2012 at 02:25 PM. |

@JonahUK , thats my guess to, it needs those per console data txt files to make req.idps.txt, then again they have installed DEX firmware and all debug settings worked?! only pgk install errors or something...well the more i think about it the more questions hehe..viva la ps3scene ![]() either way, powerfull progy that objectsuites..i wait for butnut to report his findings, maybe he can try bdemu/prodg on installed firmware..thx for testing... That is what a "scene" or a community is about, sharing and helping those that are not able to make it there on their own. I already have a DEX conversion which I used @CaptainCPSX 's tutorial which not only was the hard linux install, (not really that hard, but hard for those that don't have any prior knowledge) and as mine is a NAND PS3 which has higher risk of bricking and I still took the plunge, it maybe incomplete as we are finding out, but it works how I need it and that's all. I respect you for not attempting to belittle me, but don't make assumptions either about what I should need to do. My accusations against EvilSperm are based on his past actions. He helped us out a lot with REBUG, but suddenly stopped and no longer really adds anything to the existing work, and in light of the CEX-DEX conversion, I believe that a LOT of progress should have been made. Mods: Please excuse the off-topic discussions. I will cease now.

Obviously its not magic there is a logical reason why I can install dex firmware on a cex ps3, I just don't know what it could be. Well 4.21 dex just installed and booted... I'll just stop here for now. Time to play some war for cybertron. |

@butnut
So you are on 4.21 DEX on a CEX machine? This definitely needs looking into. Could it be something in the .sig files causing it to ignore CEX and only accept DEX? |
