PS3 Yellow Light of Death Fix Tutorial

Update: There is another easier method that has been known to work posted here.

Xbox 360 owners suffer from the RRoD but PS3 has its own problems. A small percentage of PS3 owners suffer from a phenomenon called "Yellow Light of Death" or "YLoD" . A issue very similar to Xbox 360. Up till now there has not been a fix for this but Gilksy1 has found a way to fix this for PS3 owners. This method is oddly familiar to the Xbox 360 RRoD repair and requires you to open your PS3 and need a heat gun.

Just one question though...how long does it last? Any other way to prevent it from happening again?

Great job Gilksy1, this is certainly going to help a lot of people out, if they ever have the YLOD issue!, awesome job!!

I would think this one should be made sticky, as it certainly warrants it!!

My cousin had something like this once except his ps3 broke beyond repair. He kinda deserved it though.

How exactly does YLoD occur.. from overheating? Which ps3 models does it occur most on?

Good to know there's a fix for it in case it ever happens to my ps3
