I installed the 3.55 eboot fix from Duplex(btw, your awsome!)

I have 2 issues:

1- its in french. I want to play it in english.
2- every once in awhile I get a popp up asking me if that I should do a system update(hell no!)

any suggestions?

Alright, you filthy stinking pirate! That would be the Insomni (or something like that) release, a BLES version with no english. It's the popular release at the moment because you can modify it and add english, as opposed to the incredibly painstakingly difficult task of fixing the Clandestine release by creating a new file in COOKEDPS3 named LIGHTING.TFC and leaving it empty.... (cough)

As for the update, delete the PS3UPDAT.PUP from the backup and keep your PS3 offline, no risk of updating.

yes it is Insomni, and how can I modify it to play it in English?
and as for the update. I did what you mentioned, I still get the same popp up. I used to get this popp up on another game, all i had to do is install an update on the game. I went to see if there is an update on brewology and I get nothing.

Here is the solution that I used to get all english text, subtitles, voices etc to work with the insomni release:

First, download the following:

INT language files: http://www.multiupload.nl/JO1AYYS7SM
PS3TOC.txt: http://www.mediafire.com/view/?3kdgbgczkolkc1o
COALESCED_INT_FULL.bin : http://www.multiupload.nl/WPG762TI94

Optional: COALESCED_INT.BIN from insomni release https://rapidshare.com/files/1745384...LESCED_INT.BIN


First, unrar the COOKEDPS3.rar and you'll find 669 INT language files. Place them in BLES01675/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/DISHONOREDGAME/COOKEDPS3/. Place COALESCED_INT_FULL.bin in the same directory.

Next, open COOKEDLANGUAGES and DEFAULTLANGUAGE in notepad (they are also in BLES01675/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/DISHONOREDGAME/COOKEDPS3/) and change FRA to INT on both files. Save and quit.

Next, replace the PS3TOC.TXT file in BLES01675/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/DISHONOREDGAME/ with the one provided here.

Finally, delete any previously made game data and run the game. You can install the latest patch also, but this will work either way on 4.21CFW.

NOTE: If you replaced COALESCED_INT.BIN using one of the older tutorials, then you need to replace it with the original one from the insomni release. The link for the original is here in case you need it.

If you are looking to save some space, you can also remove all the other foreign language files and get another 2 gb on your hdd. In the COOKEDPS3 folder, do a search for FRA, DEU, ITA, and ESN, and each time you'll get 671 files which are the language files for french, german, italian, and spanish, respectively. I took them out, saved them on my computer (in case I made some mistake and needed them again), and the game works perfectly without them. I'm going to play this game to the end, and if I don't encounter any problems then I'm will delete those files I saved on my computer.
