there is no more real devs.
No not that dongle and not that "modchip". I'm talking about something like CoolRunner modchip. There are hacks that can't be done by software alone where modchip is the only solution atm. Can you use dongle in ps3 3K?

I don't understand one thing: if we have the bootldr key doesn't that mean we can decrypt future firmware revisions? At least that's what I gathered from this article therefore why are we trying to make a 4.21 CFW? Why not 4.30?

but we 3.55 waited a long time for this now it has come its.. im actually tired of getting a game and trying to patch it just to play offline the fck.. i personally think sony shouldnt focus on getting the hackers and updating their firmware their just wasting money, they need focus on how they will make the ps3 more better

the modchip was related to the lv0 exploit
this NEVER applied to 3k models so there was no need for one except for monetory gain

This is the point, the idea of the modchip was based in a exploit in a communication channel between syscon<-->cell, this gives the bigger controll of the boot process possible in ps3 we will have ever

Im waiting for a modchip like this lot of time ago to install it in a ps3 that is running cfw
People maybe thinks there is no use for a modchip like this one in a ps3 running cfw, but they are wrong

-Can be used to make a multi-boot (you could select the firmware to boot with a button, e.g: between, cexofw, dexcfw, or any other)
-One of this boots can be a REAL "recovery" (not the crappy factory/service mode)
-One of the basic features of a modchip like this is it needs to be a flasher too (is needed a way to read/write flash... this is something basic)

So for me this modchip means: flasher, multiboot, real recovery, and antibrick, pretty cool

----------------
And it was supposed to work in all manufactured motherboards up to 4000 series (superslim)
If the exploit can be trigged with hardware (and the theory is correct)... sony will release a new motherboards series soon... doesnt mind if people uses it or not, the fact that the exploit is public is enought good reason for sony to patch it (and the only way to patch it is with hardware) so get ready for the new "PS3 5000 series"
