A question
Hello , so last year I got a PS3 , I didnt jailbreak it (dont know why) , but now I want to , I updated it several times.At the moment its the version before 4.3( I think it was 4.2 or something like that) sadly I cant remember the original version of the software when I bought the PS3.My warranty is almost over.I read trough the threads here about downgrading.So my question is:Is there any kind of software to check if its possible to downgrade it by opening the PS3 ?

Yes, there is. It is called minverchk. I am not able to find a working link right now.

It is a fake update file that works in all PS3's. After you run it as an update, it will show a message saying what the lowest firmware your PS3 can have is.

The recent events also have little effect on those of us who own an unhackable PS3 sadly. The keys that were leaked were for lv0 and not lv0.2 which is what we have.

But do you know/think that some top notch hacker/s is/are working on jailbraking this version , or are there little to no hopes? |

I sure hope so. All of this news almost makes me want to go out and buy a hackable PS3 again. I have a CECH-3001A on 4.25.
I have not seen any devs announce they are working on cracking this console, but who knows, lots of secret dev circles in this scene.
