hi guys ive already remarried one drive on a 3.55 with the help of one of our members and ps3devwiki remarry procedures but this one is killing me.. i got another 3.55 with out blu ray drive..replace it and i did everything just like i did last time but for some reason when i put a blu ray in to reset the files it gives me this message " to play this BD, you must renew the encryption key. Perform a system update to renew this encryption key..when i put a game in the screen goes black. Any ideas?????

Use a different Blu ray movie. Some newer blu ray movies need higher firmware.

ok so what i found out is i had to put in an older blu ray for it to read the keys from and now the games work as well..only problem is it still gives me an "update for encryption keys" message when i install newer 2012 blu ray discs..anyway around this??...kmeaw spoofer 9.99 didnt help as i thought it would..im out of ideas and dont want to keep this jailbreak if i cant watch blu rays. Any help would be awesome

yea i used a diff one and it worked but i guess now theyre making new keys for newer discs..any idea when or where they gonna come out with new ones..cause watching old blu rays gets boooring and i would imagin that new ps3 in the future might be affected right?

Nothing you can do about it not playing new blue rays with newer encryption keys. It is one of those things that is a downside to having a Jailbroke ps3. Buy a blue ray player. It would be cool if someone could figure out how to update the aacs keys on a jailbroke for newer blue rays, although I'm not sure if that would ever be possible.

damn thats sucks cause i figure if i sell it on ebay a few weeks after theyre playing games theyre gonna ding me for a refund cause the bluray player dont work and now they dont want it..what a pain in the @ss

Just rip your blu ray movies to an external hdd, and play them with Showtime.

If you don't have a blu ray drive in your pc to rip it, then just "cough-download_cough" them.

Just say in the description that it is sold as is with no returns due to the nature of this console. I mean, anyone who knows what they are buying should know the pros and cons to having it.

Ebayer buyers are dense as Fu#k. they dont read Sh^t. you can put as is no returns and they can still dispute anything even broken for parts as category and get their money back..my luck they will upgrade it then send it back. they have 45 days and all they have to do is put item not as described and ebay will side with them..then im sure they wont quad bubble wrap like i do when they send it back and all the sides will be broken like all the broken ones ive been buying lately..they just send it in a flat rate box no padding

Believe me, I know this well. I have sold a few items on eBay and I have also gone round and round with these numb nuts. They do usually win, but I guess this is the price you pay for worldwide market. Things sell for what they are worth on eBay. Your other option is to try and sell it on these forums, but most these people are cheap and don't want to give you what you got n it, let alone a profit.

man seems like and injustice but i might just update it and save the hassle and ebay fees..i usually sell em on ebay for 260 free shipping then 12.9% gets eaten by ebay, paypal then shipping costs 15-21 bucks so i end up losing 60 bucks right off the top...or i can sell it with 2 controllers updated w/ a cheap ass game on craigslist for 180..just feels like im slapping everyone in the face whos helped me jailbreak it and fix it if i update it.
