I have found a way to get a free Metal Gear Online beta code for USA every time (got about 5 from this with 0% failure rate).

As you guys might have heard the beta is having tremendous issues as is, and its pretty unfair UK and Japan all get the beta for free while US has to go out and preorder the game to enter the beta.

Recall that many people had a error of getting 9 letter codes versus 12 letter codes from the Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2. Konami said to fix this issue you would have to email them to get it fixed, will since this was a error on their part they really have no way to check to see if the code you send them is legit or not.

Fill out the information it asks for, this is what I chose from the drop down menus for those who hate to read:

Game: MGO
Platform: PlayStation®2
Issue: Other

In the Question Detail: area is where your going to write up your message, this is where you have to sound like a innocent and frustrated newb

Tell them that you got the Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2 DVD from a preorder at Gamestop/EBGames and you found that the code was only 9 digits long instead of 12, and when trying to enter the code, it would be rejected. Also let them know you live in USA, and ask them to please help.

This is what I sent in, not recommended you use the same message or your request might get bounced back:

Hello, I have just pre-ordered Metal Gear Limited edition from Gamestop and received the Metal Gear Saga VOLUME 2 DVD, with beta code. However upon opening the beta code I saw the code was only 9 letters long, when entering the code on subscriptions on PSN, I got a error saying the code has to be 12 characters long. My MGSO beta code that I got from DVD read read RA5F-SFE5-A. Please help me with this issue, thanks.

Besure you include the fake beta key, it can be anything 9 characters long, just no symbols and all caps. Besure to use a combination of numbers/letters.

Send the form and thats it, I got a reply back from them in about 2 days with the new beta key.

Thank you for your time an effort pirate, but would you be kind enough, to add more characters (0-9) and (a-z), in order to tweak the image properly?

It is unlikely they send me a new code if mine was only A's and 2's, just like your example, if you add 5 more would be great, thank you very much.

I doubt he has that many beta codes to make all 36 characters.

In reality all that would be needed are B, R, D, Q, K and maybe one or two more.
Not for regular usage just so people can analyze the font and recreate it.

It is based on 2 by 2 pixels and then blurred slightly.

I dont get what your saying....do you think that they are asking for a real non-working code? Becuase all you do is type in any combo of those characters and bingo, your in.

For example I really doubt there are many ways to make an H out of dots.
But R can haz possiblities as can K and Q

Also your non working code must actually look like Konami made it somewhat.

If you just slapped up some random font it could be spotted pretty easily.

As an example the Arial A has slanted sides while the A in the scan has straight sides and then the slant.

Oh and A2AA-AA2A-A isn't a terribly convincing code.

I wasnt asking the whole letters and numbers, just 4 or 3 more, in order to make a "credible mixing" code, that's all.

Actually i managed to do a "T" and a "F", out of those, (A and 2, and the hypen too). Sent my email yesterday (today is a festive day)i had to do a slightly inclination to the fonts due to the originals are like that. So i have to wait till tomorrow

Congratulations on getting the Code. Hope you like the beta.

On a more pessimistic note the letters of T and F are pretty easy from what I can gather.
They have no curves or slants in any way you do it except cursive.

well i was searching for fonts also, and found this one that seems to be really legitimate looking... i used paint, and made it bold, put some spaces between dashes, and the give it that blurry legitimate look, i compressed the image, and changed it to bitmap monochrome... looks great!

But since I'm amazingly good at those Can you see the blah blah blah or spot the difference and such. The A is flawed and I think the 2 is as well but it is DAMN close.

You'll probably get in. Hey you could probably get in with a blank one!
