4.30 hard drive to 3.55 new hard drive
Hello, I have a quick question. If I have a 80 Gb hard drive with the new 4.30 update installed, and a clean empty 320 Gb hard drive, am I able to install 3.55 firmware to the 320 Gb and use it in my PS3? If not how would I go about doing this. I have searched on Google but could not find anything on this.

Hard drives do not store any of the Firmware. It will need to be formatted after.

Please explain, I'm somewhat new to the ps3 CFW scene. The 320 Gb drive is formatted already.

Hard drive has nothing to do with the firmware. The firmware is stored on the PS3's motherboard. In order to downgrade as of now you need to install a hardware flasher on your motherboard.
