Hey guys I'm currently downgrading my PS3 from 4.30. I've done flashing to my PS3, and at this part im told to insert the "Downgrade dongle" and turn on my PS3 and eject quickly. I have E3 card reader, if that counts as "Downgrade dongle" but it has no files in it. the e3 has no files, since I've formatted it. can you explain me this part please ?

You need to drag and drop the "e3 card reader downgrade.bin file" to the upgrader folder on the e3 card reader. When you put the reader into the computer, 2 folders pop up. The e3upgrader folder is where you drag and drop the file, which if successful will turn the led on the reader to blue. Then put it in the right most USB port on ps3 and turn the switch on the back off and then back on, or pull and replace power cord, then hot power eject really quick. Ps3 should shut itself off, then continue with the process.

ty very much!! last question, someone told me that what this part means is that I need is to get into factory mode. so actually what I need is to drag that "Lv2diag.self" file?... or you are sticking to what you said? ** EDIT ** ah forget it I'll just do what you said. thanks a lot!

You need to do what I said before going to the lvl2 diag steps, or the ps3 won't do anything with those files. Those files call upon the system to install the update file located on the USB, but it won't call upon the system unless it is in fsm first. Drag and drop the file I told you, and do everything else I told you. After the ps3 shuts itself off, then you put the step 1 lvl2diag and rogero cfw .pup renamed to PS3UPDAT.PUP on a USB and put it into the rightmost USB port and turn the console on. Wait, after it is done, it will shut itself off, then you put the step 2 lvl2diag on a USB and do the same thing. After it shuts off again, turn the console back on and it will be on rogero, then dehash the console by installing and running the toggle qa .pkg

Alright! all though I'm not sure the lv2diag files I have are correct (I just want to make sure). the mirrors over http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/E3 are broken. where is the best place to download correct files?
