I've liked the PS1, 2, and 3 since I can modify games. Aside from that, they strike me as above the law ****** bags. I remember when they were secretly putting a rootkit on music CDs bought from them. People found out, they respond something like "Who cares, they don't even know what it is?". Court made them fix it. They made a supposed fix that didn't work and messed up computers even more for other hackers to get on peoples' computers, and those disks are still floating around.

There was the store or company called Lik Sang that bought and sold games from any country or whatever. I think they were allowing people to buy any region game, and Sony didn't like that and destroyed them. Some people want to play games not available in their country or language, and not all games go to every region. I'm surprised this hasn't been a famous business, but I guess I can thank the guys at Sony with a stick so far up their asses. You can probably still legally do that with eBay, but whatever, idiots of Sony.

There was the exploding batteries they recalled for their laptops. That's a nice scare to come home and your house could've burned down. I do remember something like that for Microsoft's Xbox too.

I didn't like their easily dying barely lasting a few years optical drives for their PS2s. You'd give them a call for the first few years of their PS2 and as long as you didn't try to open it or use a cheat device on your PS2 ever, they'd take forever to repair it for free. After those first few years, the court no longer forced them to do it and they charged you to fix their piece of crap laser that should have lasted much longer. In total mine died 5 times, and I had to pay for 3 of them. Bull****!

Similar to Lik Sang, they harassed some site doing about the same thing. Some complaint about them selling Japanese psps to Europe or something and that messing up Sony's ability to build up hype for things in different countries. Whatever it was, it was stupid.

I never played the PSP, but I do remember people saying the battery dies too fast. They also had those dead pixel problems.

I'm also baffled by how effortlessly they could drag people to court and win over hacking the PS3. I know the hacking allowed a lot of pirating, people were selling hard drives loaded with games everywhere online, like craigslist. But different hackers had different goals. Graf just wanted Linux back. He went to jail or something. People wanted to take Sony to court over the loss of Linux, and Sony won without effort. Anything involving court has been an effortless win for Sony.

There was all of the credit card info from the PS3 being hacked. They just kept saying "Don't worry." I was thinking of the way corporations lie. I remember a news report from some casino where numbers drawn for something was like the number 7 five times in a row, some other number, then 7 a few more times. They said "We aren't cheating, it isn't rigged." I thought "Bullcrap! Your rigged system was cheated somehow and you denied you cheated." I get the idea Sony somehow does that a lot too. The news about the situation is just tucked away and you never know what happened, people could have probably been using credit card accounts and Sony would silence it from the media for all I know.

Just think of how little it takes for you to commit a crime, even if it is beyond harmless. You get lots of jail time for nothing, a record, all kinds of fun stuff, even if you had no idea you had even committed a crime.

Then you get to see things on the news, like Dick Cheney shooting somebody accidentally with a rifle, and nothing happens to him. Big banks destroy people's lives endlessly taking everything they have and throwing them in jail. Pharmaceutical corporations make drugs they knowingly lie about the research on, like antidepressants they know had absolutely no effect on depression yet they made people so miserable so fast they killed themselves. Nothing happens. The ATF is caught supplying weapons to drug cartels along the Texas/Mexico border, many people die. Nothing happens. Big tobacco is found out to have been lying like mad since the 50's and probably before and people are addicted, dying, and choking the life out of the rest of us. Nothing happens. Alcohol and tobacco kill nonstop, and pot saves lives. Guess which are illegal and which are not. Bill Clinton goes to another country, smokes a joint, and nothing. Sony takes big ****s on customers with things like my post a few posts back. They make a patch that doesn't work and opens your computer up to further hacker compromise and don't get forced many years to repair their crappy PS2 lasers for free. Basically nothing.

You get caught with a joint, and you'll be sitting in prison for a long time. You see a cop wrongfully taser others and you get arrested for recording it. You go around picking up other people's garbage on the streets for free every day for a long time and somebody notices an envelope or something in a public garbage has your name on it, you get fined: http://web.orange.co.uk/article/quir...rubbish_in_bin

What's not to hate about these *******s? Laws don't apply to them, they apply to us, and in the stupidest ways. I hate them and hope that every bad thing that can happen to them does and a million times more. Sony really should have gotten a major kick in the butt for their rootkit on music CDs, but they got nothing. Hackers do that everywhere and sit in jail no matter how harmless. Corporations and governments do it all the time and nothing, even if it harms and ruins the lives of countless innocents.

I do hate Sony but not for the reasons fanboys would accuse me for. It may be super hard for me to digest what they did inside the Playstation ecosystem but that's not why I hate them. What makes me deadly angry with them is the fact that they triggered a domino of events that were less related to Sony and affected, affecting and will affect our lifes and our relationship with electronics very negatively which is seriously a reason for even people liking their products to boycoot them for life. First it started with the idea of Sony that just because they can and they said so they can buy the law in multiple ways, then other companies and organizations seeing the events started to think exactly the same which more or less ended up changing DMCA and starting PIPA/SOPA etc to circumvent consumers of their rights, something completely unacceptable in the age of the 21st century. Then because of this attitude every company that has enough money to sillence judges or buy law in general would feel free to start a fight against other companies for everything related in an open idea to copyrights and other stuff, let's say Apple vs. Samsung. Now we have the absolutely retarded change in DMCA and Jailbreaking and the list will go on, all that because of Sony.

What I try to say is that they affected more or less much more stuff than the Playstation brand ecosystem and they keep doing it, it's like they have spread a virus to the market and the law which is a serious reason to never forgive them.

Sony is a corrupted cancerous leech and it needs to consolidated or it needs to get asap terminated, it affected already our lifes and something must happen for the sake of our rights.

Hate is such a high profanity in the vocabulary to use. 'Disagree's with Sonys legal methods' would have been a better title.
Anyway, to suggest anyone hates Sony is blashphemy.
This great forum would not exist if Sony didn't join the console industry (+make mistakes).

Their products (at least in the UK) have been generally fantastic - Consoles, Camera's, TV's, etc etc and they will go on to further improve. However, their legality structure needs to be re-identified as to what they should focus on i.e assessing wasting time and money suing ordinary people who do ordinary things to what they have purchased.

On a Personal note, its 13 years and still going, is my love for Sony. A Truely Great great company.

Great titles, yeah. If sony weren't around they'd have probably ended up on different consoles, making them not sound so special. Them and game makers should lighten their death grips on their single player only games, or just make a separate console for people to mess with and not in any way be able to access online. Who'd be angry then? Look at how fun things are on computers. Lots of software and tools for all kinds of things to mess with games whether they are on the computer or some console being emulated. If I had the money I wouldn't have wasted it on a PS3 or Xbox 360. All I'd be missing out on is a few console exclusives, and they can keep them with their attitudes. Consoles are castration, computers are an open world.
