Toggle QA not permanent & no iPlayer/Channels
Well, finally decided to install cfw 4.30 on my ps3.
Not a noob but looks like even I made a mistake. When you toggle QA using toggle.pkg, it looks like the QA flagging is reset if your ps3 restarts. Which I didnt know. Did not know that with slims to get into recovery mode you turn off the ps3, and then turn it on and it beeps once, but then you have to press and hold the power button again to get the 2nd beep and get into recovery. Well thanks to this it looks like the QA flag was disabled since I had to redo the process for getting into recovery; managed to install cfw 4.30 properly, but when I try to run toggle.pkg again, it giver error 80010017 Also due to there being hundreds of posts, I guess I missed the bit about this firmware being in "demonstraton mode", so not of the Video Channels work at all! No iplayer, ITV, 4OD, and guessing no loveflim or netflix. So, that means that come a fix, I will need an E3 flasher ![]() So my advce, dont bother updating yet.

Don't worry, you can go back to 3.55 without a hardware flasher still.

How can we be sure? Has anyone done it?
Cos that's what teh QA flag was for, it allowed the installation of lower firmware pups, as far as I am aware.

When you install the downgrader .pup from the XMB update you will be on a "hybrid" CFW3.55 that shows 4.30 in system setting but will successfully run toggle qa. Then you can check the qa flag is set by doing the L1 L2 L3 R1 R2 down on dpad and install Rogero 3.7 via recovery menu

Yes, I've done it at least 4 times already. Yesterday I downgraded without using QA toggle at all. Also, you shouldn't be able to run QA toggle from 4.30 unless it's signed for it. I think they are trying to unlock it for higher firmwares.

Ah K I get it now, qa flag is disabled on 4.xx hence why I get the error; and assume everyone else does as well.
toggle.pkg is signed for 3.55 hence why the downgrader.pup installs the hybrid 3.55 fw, before we can run toggle.pkg Thanks for clearing that up for me
