ps3 will not turn on
hello i have had my old ps3 since 2010 and i it suddenly stopped working one day and i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or anyone knows how to repair it. there are no lights turned on at the front of the console where the control board is (red on off led) before anyone says that its the power supply i thought id just save some of your time by saying that it has been tested and is 100% functional but am not sure about the rest of the components. here is a video i made a while back but all methods people have recommended do not work so i thought i will post it here for real assistance

, am i correct that the controller is charging via the usb?, so the usb ports have power?
did this just happened out of the blue? , or after a firmware install... |

yes this did just happen out of the blue. i still had not attempted to downgrade but i was up to backing up the flash. it was working one day and the next day i went to turn it on it didn't turn on. i didn't touch it or move it or anything since the last time i used it. the power supply has been tested by a electrician i know and he said it was in perfect working order so i believe that its not the power supply. i don't know about the gpu but i don't know how i could of damaged it.

@zapptheman
, if you have some measuring equipment (meter) you could test for voltage at the connector to the power/eject board. (10pins connector)
there should be a 5V on one pin, and at least two pins that measure +3,3V if you don't measure any voltage there then you know the standby power is not reaching the board. |
