Resident evil 6 mixed reaction

Hii guys...Resident evil 6 has been generally receiving negative reviews for not being old school...From the gameplay videos and trailers this game looked fine for me...I dont understand why some of the critics gave it a low score for not being a horror game....Call of duty has been plaguing us every year with same **** linear story..and same multiplayer every year..yet critics are satisfied with cod but not resident evil changing its roots...Resident evil 5 changed the series horror theme..yet it was a good game..i feel critics are being too harsh on resident evil 6..gamespot giving it 4/10, eurogamer 6/10...production values are too good for this game...i dont think it will be bad...iam yet to play this game...This is just my opinion...Just express your views guys...

The game is straight ****. I think this entire franchise might need a reboot. Capcom has no idea what western gamers enjoy. It's like they threw everything they think that we think is cool into RE6. Then they add stupid **** like moving while aiming. Seriously, who the **** wanted that? It was fine how it was.

Dead Space is survival horrors last hope. I honestly believe if Dead Space falls off, the genre will die.

I liked it better than RE5. Certainly much better than ORC. I still don't like how you have to collect an item arcade style instead of finding them stashed old school style. I guess the game has gone too mainstream to avoid being mainstream. I like the adrenaline flow of it. I don't like how they've taken the puzzles out of it. It's pretty much RE4 wrapped in a classic story. I guess some people want and expect something different. I say if it isn't broke don't fix it.

The older games in the franchise (RE 1, 2, 3 and Code: Veronica) have created a dark scenario grounded with an nice argument, and despite the "tank" controls, it was something creative and different.

But something has been lost with the newer games, the games ceased to be creative and became generic, and the story went from a fine suspense story to a class B terror movie script. Production values alone don´t make good game. While playing RE 4 and 5, I found myself laughing as I do watching old horror movies...

Its only my opinion, and can be ignored

i love this version of resident evil, basically three games in one with great graphics and cut scenes.the only downside is that there is no puzzles as such.wish they would go back to the format of resident evil 1,now there was some tought puzzles in that.remember one bit where i needed two tokens to get into a fountain (i think)found one and could not find the other.turns out i was carrying it all along, was hidden in a book i was carrying lol.

I have the game I just havnt played it yet. But if what Im hearing is true...NO PUZZLES??? In what world...is that going back to the franchises roots capcom? thats exactly what they said RE6 would be..."going back to the dark routes of the franchise for the sake of RE1,2 and 3 fans"
Very disappointed.

I cant understand why they cant get it right seriously :\. Make a damn game similar to resident Evil 1,2 and 3 but with current gen engines. It is that easy.

RE, DMC and MGS are the only game franchises that I pre order. Looks like its just the two latters from now on. Even though RE4 was dark and sinister and still a good game in its own right, the true roots of the game started to die right there. Zombies that talk to each other? Thats not zombies those are violent foreigners...and thats exactly how scary they will always be compared to walking dead

The classic Resident Evil games have always been my all time favorite, having played 2 and 3 to death.
RE4 was acceptable because it still had a nice dark atmosphere going on and it was quite fun to play, but the zombies being turned into a mob of angry mexicans didn't do the game any good.
After that, between Chris being turned into a buffed space marine and the series being turned into a full-action franchise, i lost all my faith into new RE games.

IMO, it should have been more like REZero. It's really the only one that's made like the classics but with a newer engine with the exception of the RE make for the gamecube. Both of which look amazing rendered in high def on my PC via the Dolphin Emulator.
