Hello all.

Not long ago I upgraded to rogero CFW 4.30, but I might want to downgrade back to kmeaw 3.55 again. But I need to know if you can downgrade from rogero CFW 4.30 to 3.55 without HDD will be formatted? or is it safe enough to do a system backup on a CFW! and you can even install a HDD backup from a higere fw to a lower?

downgrade shouldnt effect your hard drive

I downgraded from ofw 4.30 before this, with a e3 flasher. To rogero 3.70 cfw and then to rogero cfw 4.30. Somehow in this, the hdd was formated.. now dont want that to happen again hehe

Nand ps3's are the only ps3's that don't require formatting after downgrade. The really old fat ps3 versions.

What I would suggest, install everything again, then go to settings, system settings and backup. Have an external drive hooked up to the ps3 and then hit back up in the menu.

When you downgrade it'll be formatted, go back to the same area and hit restore, It could take up to an hour or more, depending how much you have on the hdd.

At this point it's the only proper solution. Though you may need to reinstall things that aren't compatible if you're coming from 4.21+cfw

Don't forget to dehash after downgrading as you risk the chance of bricking the ps3 if you don't.

Downgrading in Factory/Service mode will format your hdd. That is why when you downgraded with e3 flasher, it formatted when you installed Rogero from FSM.
