sorry for this, this is probably my first stupid question on here so far/

what are the eboot patches for? i see lots of them for all the various games but when i google or searvh here it doesnt tell me what they are for.

I think you may be looking at the wrong forums and need to sell your ps3 asap.

Eboot patch......

They were created for the 3.55 cfw, but as of now, not really needed unless you stay on 3.55.

Its not a stupid question, don't mind the rude person above me. However i do find it hard to believe that you couldn't find your answer through google. When you search and get some information, refine your search and search again, then refine and search again. That is how to use google. When you are on a CFW you need your eboot to be patched to work with your CFW. And it is not true that you do not need to worry about eboots unless you are on 3.55 . Eboots still need to be resigned on other firmware its just that multiman does it for you now. Also PSN games need to be resigned. I would have thought that If someone was going to be rude to you at least they would have given you correct information.

@mrc1978 yes I am serious, I wouldnt ask the question if I wasnt unfortunatley. I thought I was in the right forum, a forum where if you cant find the information you seek then "just ask" there are lots of helpful people on the forum.

@concretecork thank you for taking the time to reply, Ill go back and have another look at google, when I searched it just brought up list after list of patches for individual games, nothing to tell me 'an eboot patch is something you stick up your ass and it helps you give up smoking, there are many patches available and to apply a patch you do this' if you get my meaning
