Hey guys,

For XMAS i got an already used PS3 with OFW 3.15
I insatlled rogeros 4.30 v2.03 and since the PS3 has technical issues we may send it back to the previous owner

now my question:
can i downgrade back to OFW 3.15 without leaving any clues that the software has ever been touched?

i worry about the fw-update because i once downgraded to cfw 3.55 and updated again to cfw 4.30 but it said i need fw 4.40 or higher...although the fwupdate worked (thx to toggle_qa)

i googled much around and couldnt find anything

Not too sure if you can get to 3.30 via recovery from 3.55 but you can with a fsm dongle for sure.

look i know when im on CFW and QA_Flag is enabled i can install any firmware down to the oldest firmware ive ever had.

So i can theoretically install the firmware 3.15
But if i do that, will there be any clues that it has been jbed once?
and if i do that will i be able to jb it again?

me worries, like i said, the fw update function because it says you need a fw higher than 4.40 to update press start+select blabla but the ps3 accepts the fw update and its updating to whatever i have in the usb-stick
i think when i install ofw 3.15 this 4.40 **** will still stay there and the previous owner will think hmm.... i think he did something to the FW so the random freezes are his fault because he did sth to the fw... but i know it can only be hardware issue...

LOOK how on earth is the 4.40 **** gonna stay. The only thing that will be a dead give away is QA flag. So you could disable qa flag and downgrade with a fsm dongle.

i downgraded once on 3.55 cfw and when i tried to update again to rog 4.30 it said i need a fw higher than 4.40 and i think it will stay forever

btw i dont want to buy any equipment

EDIT: well but rogeros cfw looks pretty original... if i could disable app_home it would look ofw 4.31 without any downgrading and stuff

You only get that message when you are on the (hybrid) downgrade pup. That will not stay forever. However the QA flag will stay on forever until you run qa toggle and deactivate it. But saying as you don't want to buy anything you are gonna have to keep it activated to downgrade. Don't you have a psp 1000?

whats the chance the owner is going to try the qa flag combo very slim lol .

downgrade to 3.55 then downgrade with qa flag to the ofw u want and just leave it ,

If the owner is into modding ps3 and has sold this one knowing it's faulty he gonna be all over it like a cheap shirt. But if he isn't then yeah chances are very slim.

if the owner in to modding ps3's it could of been qaflag before the op

I'm not disputing that bud, but if he is he may of de-activated it knowing their is a chance the console is gonna be coming back. But like you stated chances are slim. But if he is dishonest and wanting to be a funny phuker, he is gonna be able to say it has been modded since he sold it on.
