Tried to upgrade from Rogero 3.55 3.7 to Rogero 4.30 1.04 And Had Problems..

Hi guys,

Basically, I was on Rogero 3.55 3.7 and thought I should upgrade to 4.30 for smoother experience moving forward... Well, it did not take to the update well.

I read the steps, installed and applied the QA Flag pkg, double checked that QA mode was enabled, rebooted into Recovery, and ran the flash update.

Somewhere along the lines I got a BSOD and a reboot loop after screwing around with the controller while it was on the blue screen.

I have since been unable to reflash any of the updates. When I go into recovery mode and try to flash an update I am getting a data corrupted error. No matter what CFW (3.55 3.7, or 4.30 1.04). I dont know what has happend.. I reformatted the USB drive and still get the Data Corrupted error.

Should I try one of the other recovery options? The PS3 does not boot properly and when I go to update it wants 4.30 or higher...

Any suggestions?

No matter what CFW or OFW I try right now I get The data is corrupted (8002F2B5)

I think the process would be to downgrade to 3.55, which I believe you would need to be able to use the downgrader PUP from the xmb, if you dont have access to the xmb I dont think you can downgrade without using a flasher.

well if you have an NOR console (all slims and some phats) you can use E3 Flasher (solderless for slims) and I would not know what to recommend for phats, E3 can be used on phats but requires soldering.

I have a slim, and CECH-2501.. It says somewhere
CECH-25xx (DOUBLE CHECK THIS WITH MIN VERSION CHECKER AS SOME CANNOT BE DOWNGRADED) (IF OK To Downgrade) NOR = Teensy++ / Progskeet / E3 Flasher
Whatever that means.. I have a Teensy++ But I dont have xmb access remember, I only have recover console.. so How do I do the nor thing

Brilliant! I am able to update to 999 Rebug now, but from there -- what should I do next?

I will look up some upgrading from Rebug 3.55 to Rogero 4.30. Thank you very much for the suggestion eddie! I really appreciate it!

Alright, so I need to clean this up a bit now and get specific. Thank you for all the help and suggestions so far --

I had used Rebug to downgrade successfully -- but with the original 320GB HDD. I than tried to simply swap the HDD back to the 1TB HDD I had been using with CFW 3.55 3.7 -- And I was prompted with a recovery screen - So I tried to re-run rebug downgrade with the 1TB HDD in.

Now what has happened is I can successfully use rebug 999 - Rebug 3.55 FW. I am on my original PS3 HDD. I would like to update the PS3 from rebug 3.55/999 to Rogero 4.30 1.04 -- Can I do this directly from Recovery? And if I would like to swap a new HDD should I have a blank formatted drive ready and install after successfully updating to 4.30CFW? I cant get rebug to see any pkgs on my usb, but I went into rebug toolbox and saw QA mode is enabled.

Thanks in advance
