Extracting PKG Files
I'm not sure if this is the right subforum, but I'm hoping someone here can help me.
I am trying to extract some PS3 .pkg files that I downloaded directly from Sony's site - I got the links from various threads. I am not trying to play these on my PS3, rather I want to extract the files so I can view/edit/replace their contents. I tried several different PKG extractors and they all crashed except for "PSP PS3 PKG Decrypter Extractor v.1.0.0.0", which gave me a bunch of files. However, I notice each file it gave me has .EDAT after it, and encrypted as well. I tried stuff like ASToolPS3 2.3 and Multi PKG Tool, none of them worked. Is there something I'm missing? Each of the files came with .rap files as well (obviously from a filesharing site), which I needed to extract them. It's my understanding that I can patch the PKG to play it on a PS3 with custom firmware... but how can I just extract the files? Thanks for any help or pointers. |
