And well, downgrading needs a compatible console... Which is a console that at some point have been on OFW 3.55 or lower... ie. the factory firmware was 3.55 or lower. The TI-calculator/psjailbreak hack only worked for firmwares up till fw 3.41. It was patched in later firmwares. The firmwares up till 3.41 had a bufferoverflow (...programming mistake) in the code that handled USB hubs, which could be utilized. This was patched in the later firmwares by Sony after it became known.

Sorry for the late response. I did not have a lot of time to respond lately. Anyhow, this clarifies a lot.

I think I will bring my ps3 to somebody who unlocks them in the Netherlands. That does mean I have to drive a while and pay 65 euro's.
If I have to do it myself it does mean I have to sold stuff and I am not that fond of solding. Is the Progskeet method considered easier or harder than the E3 method? I have seen a full E3 hardware installation on youtube and I am quite sure I can pull that off.

trust me, you don't want to do it yourself, and 65 euro's is not that bad.
